Russia Men's National Basketball Team
The Russia men's national basketball team () represents Russia in international basketball competition. They are organized and run by the Russian Basketball Federation (RBF). The team came into existence after the dissolution of the Soviet Union and its national team. In the post-Soviet era, the Russia national team consisting of Soviet players under the guidance of Sergei Belov won the silver medal at EuroBasket 1993. It also won silver at the World Cup in consecutive appearances in 1994 and 1998. However, Belov's departure saw Russia face multiple disappointments, until David Blatt took over as head coach. Under Blatt's guidance, the national team became champions at EuroBasket 2007, and also won bronze medals at EuroBasket 2011 and the 2012 Summer Olympics. Zoran Lukić (basketball)
Zoran Lukić ( sr-Cyrl, Зоран Лукић; born 7 September 1971) is a Serbian professional basketball coach. He currently serves as the head coach for Russia men's national basketball team, Russian national team. Coaching career Lukić started his coaching career in 1995 when he joined the coaching staff of Serbian team KK Atlas, Beopetrol (later renamed to KK Atlas, Atlas). He worked there as an assistant coach under Zoran Krečković, Slobodan Klipa, Predrag Badnjarević, and Zoran Slavnić. Sergei Valerianovich Bazarevich (; born 16 March 1965) is a Russian former professional basketball player and coach. At and , he played at the point guard and shooting guard positions. Bazarevich was a regular member of the senior Russian national basketball team, with whom he won silver medals at the EuroBasket 1993 and the 1994 FIBA World Championship. EuroBasket 2015 was the 39th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by Croatia, France, Germany, and Latvia, making it the first EuroBasket held in more than one country. It started on 5 September and ended on 20 September 2015. David Blatt
David Michael Blatt (; born May 22, 1959) is an Israeli-American professional basketball executive. He is also a former coach and player. Blatt played point guard at Princeton University from 1977 to 1981 and played in the Maccabiah Games for the U.S. national team that won a gold medal in 1981 Maccabiah Games, 1981. He then played professional basketball in Israel for nine of the next twelve years, before an injury ended his playing career, and he began coaching full-time. Sergei Alexandrovich Belov (; 23 January 1944 – 3 October 2013) was a Russian professional basketball player, most noted for playing for PBC CSKA Moscow, CSKA Moscow and the senior Soviet Union national basketball team.
