Rua 25 de Março or Rua Vinte e Cinco de Março () is a popular shopping street in the Central Zone of São Paulo, central zone of São Paulo, Brazil. The district surrounding Rua 25 de Março has long been synonymous in Brazil with large crowds and discount shopping. History Much of the area that is Rua 25 de Março today was originally part of the Tamanduateí River. A series of river engineering projects in the late nineteenth and earlier twentieth centuries realigned the Tamanduateí River, Tamanduateí and Anhangabaú River, Anhangabaú rivers, moving the river and the port further to the east. The old port, Porto Geral, lends its name to one of the major cross streets of 25 de Março, Ladeira Porto Geral. The original street name, "Rua de Baixo", refers to the low (''baixo'') position of the land in comparison with the streets uphill to the west. Mosteiro De São Bento (São Paulo)
Monastery of Saint Benedict ( Portuguese: ''Mosteiro de São Bento'') is a Catholic temple located in São Paulo, Brazil. Established on 14 July 1598, the current church was built between 1910 and 1914 by the German architect Richard Berndl. It is formed by the Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption, the College of São Bento and the School of Philosophy of São Bento. Currently, around 45 monks reside in the monastery, where they dedicate their lives to the ''ora et labora'' tradition. The Basilica of Our Lady of the Assumption contains a choir for the Divine Office in the monastic rite, celebrated daily by the monks, and Mass in the Roman rite, both with Gregorian chant. Lebanese Brazilian
Lebanese Brazilians (; ) are Brazilians of full or partial Lebanese ancestry, including Lebanese-born immigrants to Brazil. According to the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics, they form some of the largest Asian communities in the country, along with other West Asian and East Asian descendants. Contemporary data on the number of Arab descendants in Brazil is highly inconsistent. The national IBGE census has not questioned the ancestry of the Brazilian people for several decades, considering that immigration to Brazil declined almost to 0 in the second half of the 20th century.
