The men's quadruple sculls competition at the 2012 Summer Olympics in London took place are at Dorney Lake which, for the purposes of the Games venue, is officially termed Eton Dorney. Dorney Lake (also known as Eton College Rowing Centre, and as Eton Dorney as a 2012 Summer Olympics venue) is a purpose-built Rowing (sport), rowing lake and Meetings & Events Venue in England. It is near the village of Dorney, Buckinghamshire, and is around 3 km (2 miles) west of Windsor, Berkshire, Windsor and Eton, Berkshire, Eton, close to the River Thames. The lake is privately owned and financed by Eton College, which spent £17 million developing it. Additional grants, totalling £500,000, were obtained from Sport England, UK Sport, the Department for Culture, Media and Sport, DCMS and South East England Development Agency, SEEDA in order to build the lake's finish tower. The project was completed in 2006, after 10 years of construction. Matthieu Androdias (born 11 June 1990) is a French representative rower. He is a three time Olympian, an Olympic champion and a dual world champion. He competed in the men's quadruple sculls at the 2012 Summer Olympics and in the men's double scull at the 2016 Summer Olympics. Kaspar Taimsoo (born 30 April 1987) is an Estonian rower. He is a four time Olympian and four time European champion. He is a member of Viljandi Rowing Club (). Rowing career 2004–2008 Taimsoo made his first international appearance in the Junior World Championships in 2004 achieving 14th position in the double sculls event. Allar Raja (born 22 June 1983) is an Estonian rower. He is a member of rowing club ''SK Kalev'' located in Pärnu. Rowing career 2000–2008 Raja competed in the World Rowing Junior Championships in 2000 in the quadruple sculls event (19th) and in 2001 in the double sculls event (13th).
