Ron Ramsey
Ronald Lynn Ramsey (; born November 20, 1955) is an American auctioneer, politician, and lobbyist, who served as the 49th lieutenant governor of Tennessee and speaker of the State Senate from 2007 to 2017. A Republican from Blountville in East Tennessee, Ramsey succeeded long-term Democratic Lieutenant Governor John S. Wilder in 2007, who had held the office of lieutenant governor since 1971. Tennesseans do not elect their lieutenant governor; rather, the speaker of the Senate, who is first in the line of succession to the governor, is granted the title by statute. Ramsey is the first Republican Lieutenant Governor in Tennessee history, annd unsuccessfully ran for Governor of Tennessee in the 2010 election, ultimately coming third in the Republican primary. Johnson County is the easternmost county in the U.S. state of Tennessee. As of the 2020 census, the population was 17,948. Its county seat is Mountain City. History Johnson County was created in 1836 from parts of Carter County. This followed several years of bickering over the location of Carter County's seat, with residents of what is now Johnson County arguing that travel to Elizabethton was too lengthy and difficult. When their petition to move the seat to a more central location was rejected, they petitioned the state legislature for the creation of a new county. Sullivan Central High School
Sullivan Central High School was a public high school (grades 9–12) located in Blountville, Tennessee under the authority of Sullivan County Schools. It served students from Blountville Middle School and Holston Middle School until it was incorporated into the new West Ridge High School in 2021. The school's mascot was the cougar, and its final principal was Mark Foster before the school's facilities transitioned into Central Middle School following the formation of West Ridge High.
