Cornélio Procópio is a municipality in the state of Paraná in the Southern Region of Brazil. The city is served by Francisco Lacerda Junior Airport. History It was thus named in honor of Colonel Cornélio Procópio de Araújo Carvalho, a prominent figure in the Empire during the late 19th century. The colonel was the patron of the railway station at km 125, which is the landmark of the entire economic expansion of the region in which the city is located.
