Cheating
Cheating generally describes various actions designed to subvert or disobey rules in order to obtain unfair advantages without being noticed. This includes acts of bribery, cronyism and nepotism in any situation where individuals are given preference using inappropriate criteria. The rules infringed may be explicit, or they may be from an unwritten code of conduct based on morality, ethics or custom, making the identification of cheating conduct a potentially subjective process. Cheating can refer specifically to infidelity, where arranged or consensual relationships, that often come with a social contract, are violated. Someone who is known for cheating is referred to as a ''cheat'' in British English, and a ''cheater'' in American English. Academic Academic cheating is a significantly common occurrence in high schools and colleges in the United States. Statistically, 64% of public high school students admit to serious test cheating. 58% say they have plagiarized. 95% of ... Ridgling
A ridgling (also spelled ridgeling), or rig, is a cryptorchid; a male animal with one or both testicles undescended, usually describing a ram, bull, or male horse, but cryptorchidism also can be an issue in dogs and cats. Because the heat inside the body is too high for sperm to survive, an undescended testicle is non-functional. The condition is most often discussed in the horse world, as the health and behavioral issues surrounding adult males with the condition are of concern to owners and handlers of such animals. Dogs In dogs, the toy and miniature breeds are considered more susceptible. The testicles usually descend by the time a puppy is 40 days old. In horses Although the rate that testicles descend varies between individual animals, horses over three years with the condition are generally castrated. Surgery called a cryptorchidectomy is used to remove the retained testicle, but different procedures are used, depending on the location inside the body cavity. An undescen ... It was used on open-field system, open fields for arable farming. Scottish Gaelic names include (), ('one field at a time'), ('one ridge at a time'), ('peasant field'); in Scots language, Scots it was generally . Its origins are not clear, but it is possible that the practice was adopted in the late medieval period, supplanting earlier enclosed fields which were associated with a more dispersed pattern of settlement. It fell into decline mainly over the last quarter of the 18th century and the first quarter of the 19th century. The land was divided into towns or townships, comprising an area of cultivable "in-bye" land and a larger area of pasture and rough grazing. The in-bye was divided into strips"rigs"which were periodically reassigned among the tenants of the township so that no indi ... Rig (mathematics)
In abstract algebra, a semiring is an algebraic structure. Semirings are a generalization of rings, dropping the requirement that each element must have an additive inverse. At the same time, semirings are a generalization of bounded distributive lattices. The smallest semiring that is not a ring is the two-element Boolean algebra, for instance with logical disjunction \lor as addition. A motivating example that is neither a ring nor a lattice is the set of natural numbers \N (including zero) under ordinary addition and multiplication. Semirings are abundant because a suitable multiplication operation arises as the function composition of endomorphisms over any commutative monoid. Terminology Some authors define semirings without the requirement for there to be a 0 or 1. This makes the analogy between ring and on the one hand and and on the other hand work more smoothly. These authors often use rig for the concept defined here. This originated as a joke, suggesting that ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
