Rider Broncs Women's Basketball
The Rider Broncs women's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Rider University in Lawrenceville, New Jersey. The school's team competes in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference. History Rider's first season in women's basketball was in 1925, though they had periods where they did not play basketball, such as 1926–27, 1930–32, 1958–59, 1962–63, and 1966–1974. They played in the East Coast Conference (ECC) from 1982 to 1992 and the Northeast Conference from 1992 to 1997 before joining the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC) in 1997. Rider University is a private university in Lawrence Township, New Jersey, United States. It consists of three academic units: the Norm Brodsky College of Business, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, which includes Westminster Choir College, and the College of Education and Human Services. 2019 Women's National Invitation Tournament
The 2019 Women's National Invitation Tournament was a single-elimination tournament of 64 NCAA Division I teams that were not selected to participate in the 2019 Women's NCAA tournament. The tournament committee announced the 64-team field on March 18, following the selection of the NCAA Tournament field. The tournament began on March 20, 2019, and concluded on April 6, 2019, with the championship game televised on the CBS Sports Network. In the championship game, Arizona defeated Northwestern 56–42 to win the tournament. The Washington Mystics are an American professional basketball team based in Washington, D.C. Stella Johnson (basketball)
Stella Johnson (born July 11, 1998) is an American professional basketball player who most recently played for the Washington Mystics of the Women's National Basketball Association (WNBA). She played college basketball for the Rider Broncs. Career Despite playing on a top-tier Amateur Athletic Union team, Johnson was unranked and not recruited by major college teams. She was recruited by and enrolled in Rider University of the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC), whose women's basketball team had never made the NCAA tournament. In her four seasons with the Rider Broncs, she was named MAAC Player of the Year two times and led the team to its first postseason appearance in the 2017 Women's National Invitation Tournament. 2018–19 West Virginia Mountaineers Women's Basketball Team
The 2018–19 West Virginia Mountaineers women's basketball team represented West Virginia University during the 2018–19 NCAA Division I women's basketball season. The Mountaineers were coached by eighteenth-year head coach Mike Carey, played their home games at WVU Coliseum and were members of the Big 12 Conference. They finished the season 22–11, 11–7, in the 'Big 12' play to finish in a tie for the fourth place. They lost in the quarterfinals of the Big 12 women's tournament to Kansas State. Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference
The Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference (MAAC, ) is a collegiate List of NCAA conferences, athletic conference affiliated with NCAA Division I. Its current 13 full members are located in five Northeastern states: Connecticut, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, and New York (state), New York.
