Richland Township is a civil township of Kalamazoo County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 8,693 at the 2020 census, up from 7,580 at the 2010 census. The village of Richland is located within the township. Richland Township was organized in 1832. Geography The township is in northern Kalamazoo County and is bordered to the north by Barry County. It is northeast of Kalamazoo, the county seat. According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of , of which are land and , or 4.84%, are water. South Gull Lake is a large water body that is partly in the northeast corner of the township. Demographics As of the census of 2000, there were 6,491 people, 2,394 households, and 1,898 families residing in the township. The population density was . Richland Township, Missaukee County, Michigan
Richland Township is a civil township of Missaukee County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 1,489 at the 2020 census. Communities * Lucas is an unincorporated community in the township at . It was founded in 1878 by William Taylor. A number of Dutch settlers, including Harm Lucas and his five sons, arrived in 1882. A post office was established on February 23, 1883, named "Lucas" after Harm Lucas, with Abraham Lucas as the first postmaster. The office closed on February 16, 1885, and re-opened on September 7, 1886, with Peter Van den Bosch as postmaster. The office was discontinued on June 30, 1957, and became a rural branch/station of McBain until 1972.  * Garfield was a rural post office in the township. The post office opened on July 12, 1880, with farmer William N. Taylor as the first postmaster, and operated until June 15, 1882.  * The city of McBain borders the township to the east (with half of its area incorporating land from the township). ...

Richland Township is a civil township of Montcalm County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 2,646 at the 2020 census, down from 2,778 in 2010. Geography The township is in the northeast corner of Montcalm County, bordered to the north by Isabella County and to the east by Gratiot County. State highway M-46 crosses the township, leading west to Edmore and east to St. Louis. Stanton, the Montcalm county seat, is to the southwest. According to the U.S. Census Bureau, Richland Township has a total area of , of which are land and , or 1.56%, are water.
