Rheostatics
Rheostatics are a Canadian indie rock band. They were formed in 1978, and actively performed from 1980 until disbanding in 2007. After a number of reunion performances at special events, Rheostatics reformed in late 2016, introducing new songs and performing semi-regularly. Although they had only one Top 40 hit, "Claire" in 1995, they were simultaneously one of Canada's most influential and unconventional rock bands, a band whose eclectic take on pop and rock music has been described both as iconic and iconoclastic. Martin Tielli
Martin Tielli is a Canadian singer-songwriter. He was a member of the Rheostatics, and has also released material as a solo artist and with the side project Nick Buzz. As well, he has appeared as a guest musician on albums by Barenaked Ladies, Kevin Hearn, The Waltons (Canadian band), The Waltons, Jane Siberry, Ashley MacIsaac, Meryn Cadell and Mia Sheard. He is also a painter, and created most of the album covers for the Rheostatics. Tielli's siblings include brothers Doug Tielli and John Tielli and sister Sara Tielli. The brothers were members of the band People From Earth. Martin co-produced People From Earth's 1997 album, ''Luvskull'', with the band and Don Kerr. Dave Bidini
Dave Bidini (born September 11, 1963) is a Canadian musician and writer. Originally from Etobicoke, Ontario, he was a founding member of the rock band Rheostatics, and currently performs with Bidiniband. In addition, he has published several books about music, travel and sports, and has written feature journalism pieces and columns for numerous Canadian magazines and newspapers. He is the only Canadian to have been nominated for all three of Canada's main entertainment awards, the Gemini Award for television work, the Genie Awards for film work and the Juno Awards for music, as well as being nominated on Canada's national book awards program, ''Canada Reads''. Tim Vesely
Timothy Warren Vesely (born 10 December 1963) is a Canadian musician and songwriter. He is best known as a founding member of the indie rock band Rheostatics, in which he shared vocal duties with bandmates Dave Bidini and Martin Tielli. Vesely wrote much of the band's conventionally pop and rock-oriented material, including both of the band's most successful singles, "Claire" and "Bad Time to Be Poor". Vesely announced his departure from the Rheostatics on 8 September 2006. He played his final show with the band on 30 March 2007 at Massey Hall. Kevin Hearn
Kevin Neil Hearn (born July 3, 1969) is a Canadian musician who is a member of Barenaked Ladies, and his own group, Kevin Hearn and Thin Buckle. He primarily plays keyboard (instrument), keyboards and guitars. He is also a member of Rheostatics. Early life Hearn was born to a relatively large family, and they lived in a small home in Grimsby, Ontario, Grimsby, Ontario, Canada. Michael Phillip Wojewoda
Michael Phillip Wojewoda is a Canadian record producer and musician. He has been nominated for eight Juno Awards and has received one for Recording Engineer of the Year and one for Producer of the Year. History Wojewoda began recording bands in 1977, working in the basement of his mother's beauty salon and using rudimentary equipment. In 1985, he produced the 2016 Polaris Music Prize and 2017 Polaris Music Prize Heritage Prize nominated album '' To Sir With Hate'' by Fifth Column. ''Whale Music'' is a 1992 studio album by Canadian rock band Rheostatics. It should not be confused with the soundtrack to the film '' Whale Music'', which was also composed by the band and released in 1994. A performance from their concert tour to support this album was released in 2005 as '' The Whale Music Concert, 1992'', a download-only album from Zunior Records. The Dinner Is Ruined is a Canadian indie rock band. the band plays an experimental and improvisational brand of blues rock. The band members are Dale Morningstar, Dave Clark and Dr. Johnny Pee. History The Dinner Is Ruined was formed in 1991 by multi-instrumentalist Dale Morningstar. Original members included Don Kerr on drums and Al Kelso on bass. They recorded their first album, ''Burn Your Dashiki'', in 1991. After this point, Kelso left the band. Keyboardist/bassist Dr. Pee joined the group, and a second album, ''Love Songs from the Lubritorium'', was recorded in 1993 by Raw Energy, Kerr left the band after this. While opening for the band Rheostatics in 1994, Morningstar and Pee were booed and had objects thrown at them. Subsequently, Clark, at the time a member of Rheostatics, joined The Dinner is Ruined.
