"Retreat" is the sixth story arc of the ''Buffy the Vampire Slayer Season Eight'' series of comic books, based upon the television series of the same name, and is written by television screenwriter Jane Espenson. ''Retreat'' was launched in 1801 and briefly sailed as a West Indiaman between London and Jamaica. She then made five voyages for the British East India Company (EIC) as an "extra ship", that is, under charter. She was broken up in 1814. Retreat is a town in Navarro County, Texas, United States. The population was 410 at the 2020 census. Geography According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of , of which, are land and (0.40%) is covered by water. History Retreat is located on Farm to Market Road 709, just south of Corsicana in south central Navarro County. The site was settled in the 1840s and originally known as Beeman's School House. For many years, the log school building, which was also used as a church, was the only church or school in the area. As a result of shifting population, the building was moved more than once. When someone consequently suggested calling the settlement Retreat, the name stuck. A public school was in operation by 1900, and in 1906, it had an enrollment of 50. Retreat is an unincorporated community and former hamlet located within Southampton Township in Burlington County, in the U.S. state of New Jersey. Retreat is a historic home located at Port Tobacco, Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is a one-story, clapboard-sheathed, frame house with a double chimney. The principal part of the house was built about 1770. Also located on the property is a frame, pyramid-roofed meathouse, dating from the early 19th century, and moved here from another historic property in the county known as "Brentland" in 1953. The home, approached by a private gravel road, is surrounded by cultivated fields, meadows, and woodland, preserving its original agricultural and rural setting.
