''Return to Life'' () is a 1949 French drama portmanteau film in five parts directed by Georges Lampin, André Cayatte, Henri-Georges Clouzot and Jean Dréville (who directed the last two parts). It was entered into the 1949 Cannes Film Festival. Henri-Georges Clouzot Filmography
Henri-Georges Clouzot was a French film director, writer and producer. He contributed to many projects as either the writer, director, producer, or a combination of the three. His first feature film was Tout pour l'amour (1933) and as a sole director the first was the 1942 mystery '' The Murderer Lives at Number 21'' (), which featured Clouzot as both screenwriter and director. After the release of ''The Raven'' (), Clouzot found himself barred from making movies until 1947. Clouzot was later embraced by international critics and audiences following the release of ''The Wages of Fear'' () and '' Diabolique'' (). Clouzot's declining health interfered with his later work and made it necessary to abandon his production of '' L'Enfer''. He released his final film ''La Prisonnière'' in 1966. Patricia Roc (born Felicia Miriam Ursula Herold; 7 June 1915 – 30 December 2003) was an English film actress, popular in the Gainsborough melodramas such as '' Madonna of the Seven Moons'' (1945) and ''The Wicked Lady'' (1945), though she only made one film in Hollywood, '' Canyon Passage'' (1946). Serge Reggiani (born Sergio Reggiani; 2 May 1922 – 23 July 2004) was an Italian-French actor and singer. He was born in Reggio Emilia, Italy, and moved to France with his parents at the age of eight. After studying acting at the Conservatoire des arts cinématographiques, he was discovered by Jean Cocteau and appeared in the wartime production of '' Les Parents terribles''. François Périer (; born François Pillu; 10 November 1919 – 28 June 2002) was a French actor renowned for his expressiveness and diversity of roles. Career He made over 110 film and TV appearances from 1938 to 1996, with notable excursion into the French avant-garde. He was also prominent in the theatre. Among his better-known parts was that of Hugo in the first production of Jean-Paul Sartre's '' Les Mains Sales'' in 1948.
