Resurrection (Anastacia Album)
''Resurrection'' is the sixth studio album by United States, American recording artist Anastacia released in May 2014. The record is her first album of original material in nearly five and a half years and was primarily written and recorded during Anastacia's second experience of breast cancer. The album proved to a commercial success in Europe entering the top five in Italy, Germany, Spain and Switzerland and the top ten in the Dutch and UK charts. Background The album's title ''Resurrection'' refers to the artist's recovery from breast cancer and a return to the "sprock" sound (hybrid of soul, pop and rock) the singer became known for in 2004. The recording sessions for the album began in early 2013. The title also refers to the meaning of her name in Greek, Anastasia. During the recording of the song "Pendulum" she was informed of her second cancer diagnosis. Anastacia Lyn Newkirk ( ; born September 17, 1968) is an American singer-songwriter. Her first two studio albums, '' Not That Kind'' (2000) and '' Freak of Nature'' (2001), achieved chart success with the singles " I'm Outta Love", " Not That Kind", " Paid My Dues", and " One Day in Your Life". The Federazione Industria Musicale Italiana (FIMI) or the Federation of the Italian Music Industry is an umbrella organization that keeps track of virtually all aspects of the music recording industry in Italy. Andy Stochansky is a musician and songwriter from Toronto, Canada. Early years Born and raised in Toronto, Stochansky began tinkering with the family piano at the age of five. Modà is an Italian rock band from Milan. Formed in 2002, the band currently consists of lead singer Kekko Silvestre, guitarists Diego Arrigoni and Enrico Zapparoli, bass guitarist Stefano Forcella and drummer Claudio Dirani. History 2000–2003: early years In the early 2000s, Kekko Silvestre met musicians Tino Alberti and Enrico Palmosi.
