Redeye Distribution is an American independent record label based in Hillsborough, North Carolina. It was founded in 1996 by Tor Hansen, Kim Hansen, and Glenn Dicker. History Redeye is represented worldwide with U.S. offices in Hillsborough, North Carolina, Hillsborough as well as San Francisco, Los Angeles, Chicago, Seattle, and New York City. The company has international offices in London, Berlin; Sydney, Australia; and Toronto. Redeye is also a member of multiple industry-related organizations including Merlin, the Music Business Association (MBA), and A2iM. Redeye owns and operates the Yep Roc Music Group, a label group which includes Yep Roc Records, Break World Records, and Studio One Records in addition to the Riff City Sounds publishing company. XL Recordings is a British independent record label founded in 1989 by Tim Palmer and Nick Halkes. It has been run and co-owned by Richard Russell since 1996. It forms part of the Beggars Group. Fake Four is an independent record label based in New Haven, Connecticut. It was founded by brothers Ceschi and David Ramos in 2008. According to an interview with Ceschi on Ugsmag.com, the Ramos brothers started Fake Four with help from Grimm Image Records in San Bernardino, California and Squids Eye Recording Collective in Dayton, Ohio as an outlet to release and distribute their personal music projects and those of their friends. Since the initial release ''This Up Here'' by David Ramos, Fake Four Inc. has been a self-sufficient label. Style Fake Four Inc. does not adhere to genre specifications. Exploding in Sound is an American independent record label started by Dan Goldin and Dave Spak while students at Northeastern University. It is based in New York City. The label was founded in 2011 and has released albums from Speedy Ortiz, Pile, LVL UP, and Porches. History Beginning in Boston Dan Goldin had been working at Island Def Jam Music Group but was dissatisfied working with music he didn't quite enjoy as much as the bands he and Spak had been seeing at local shows around the area. While working at Def Jam, Goldin decided to start operating a music blog which was the first appearance of the Exploding in Sound name. According to an interview with Consequence of Sound, Goldin stated: "If I can do this blog long enough to where it develops an audience, I can eventually start a label which in theory, has a built-in audience with that same taste." Everloving Records
Everloving Records was founded in 2003, having been Enjoy Records from 2000. With the success of Jack Johnson's debut ''Brushfire Fairytales'' the original, though defunct, Enjoy Records phoned up to reclaim their moniker. Everloving began with Jack's album, which was produced by co-founder J. P. Plunier. The company began when A&R veteran Andy Factor and Plunier partnered, after having worked together for Ben Harper. Plunier is Harper's manager and Factor was his A&R man. Shortly after "Brushfire Fairytales", Everloving had a hit with ''Mad World'' from the film ''Donnie Darko''. That was composed by Tears for Fears and arranged by Michael Andrews and featured the vocals of Gary Jules. It went #1 in the UK at Christmas 2003, two years after the film had come out. Double Double Whammy is an independent record label founded by Dave Benton and Mike Caridi in October 2011 whilst studying at SUNY Purchase, a liberal arts college in New York state. History Double Double Whammy was founded by Dave Benton and Mike Caridi in October 2011. The pair started releasing tapes for their own band LVL UP, and local bands at SUNY Purchase, the college they attended in New York state. They considered the label inspired by other indie rock labels such as Merge and K.
