''Red 13'' is the first and, to date, only EP by the American rock band Journey. History The EP was the first released on the band's own label, Journey Music. Originally sold only via the band's website, the online edition featured cover art by Kelly McDonald. When the album was packaged for retail sale, a new cover designed by artist and Journey fan Christopher Payne was chosen. ''Red 13'' is an experimental EP recorded by the band as a thank you to their fans for standing by Journey. The four songs range from a slight return to their progressive roots, a bluesy hard rocker, a cinematic ballad with a dark side and their trademark melodic rock. The band released this EP on to their website and, later, with cover art created by one of their fans (Christopher Payne), worldwide. Steve Augeri
Steve Augeri (born January 30, 1959) is an American rock music, rock singing, singer best known for his work as the lead singer of Journey (band), Journey from 1998 to 2006. He has also provided lead vocals for Tall Stories (band), Tall Stories, Tyketto, and the Steve Augeri Band. He is a member of the supergroup Bad Penny. Early life and education Steve Augeri, the son of Joseph and Emma Augeri, was born on January 30, 1959, and raised in the Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, Bensonhurst neighborhood of Brooklyn. Deen Joseph Castronovo (born August 17, 1964) is an American drummer and singer best known for being a member of classic rock band Journey and hard rock acts Bad English and Hardline. He currently plays drums and sings for the bands Journey, Generation Radio, and Revolution Saints. Ross Lamont Valory (born February 2, 1949) is an American musician who is best known as the original bass player for the rock band Journey from 1973 to 1985 and again from 1995 to 2020. Valory was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Journey in 2017. Career Ross Valory was born on February 2, 1949, in San Francisco, California. He grew up in Lafayette, California, and attended Acalanes High School. In high school, he played clarinet, bass clarinet and guitar. His mother introduced him to jazz, particularly Dave Brubeck.
