Rallye De France–Alsace
The Rallye de France Alsace was a rally competition held in the Alsace region of France. The rally took place on roads in the Vosges mountains, as well as on similar vineyard tracks to Rallye Deutschland. In 2010, it became the French round of the World Rally Championship, the Rallye de France, replacing the Tour de Corse rally in Corsica. After 5 editions, it was revealed in a meeting in January 2015 in Paris that the rally would no longer be part of the World Rally Championship due to local authorities in the Alsace region withdrawing support. The French round of the World Rally Championship returned to Tour de Corse in 2015. The 2010 Rallye de France was the first running of the Rallye de France–Alsace and the eleventh round of the 2010 World Rally Championship season. The rally took place over 1–3 October 2010, and was based in Strasbourg, the capital of the Alsace region. The rally was also the eighth round of the Production World Rally Championship, the ninth round of the Super 2000 World Rally Championship and the fifth round of the Junior World Rally Championship. Sébastien Loeb became champion for the seventh successive season by claiming his 60th WRC win on the streets of his birthplace, Haguenau. Dani Sordo was second and Petter Solberg was third. Miikka Anttila (born 10 September 1972) is a Finnish rally co-driver, mostly known teaming with Jari-Matti Latvala. Anttila has previously served alongside such drivers as Mikko Hirvonen, Janne Tuohino and Kosti Katajamäki. Jari-Matti Latvala (; born 3 April 1985) is a Finnish rally driver who has competed in the World Rally Championship (WRC). His co-driver for most of his career was Miikka Anttila, who co-drove for Latvala between the 2003 Rallye Deutschland and 2019 Rally Catalunya. He is well known for his aggressive driving style, which earns him many plaudits, and comparisons to the late Colin McRae. With 18 event victories in the WRC, he is one of the most successful drivers to not have won a championship. Latvala is also the driver with the most World Rally starts in the sport which he achieved in 2019, 17 years after his debut. The Volkswagen Polo R WRC is a World Rally Car built and operated by Volkswagen Motorsport and based on the Volkswagen Polo for use in the World Rally Championship.
