''Race'' is a 2011 Malayalam-language thriller film directed by Kukku Surendran, starring Indrajith, Kunchacko Boban, Mamta Mohandas, Baby Anikha, and Gowri Munjal. The story is based on Greg Iles's novel '' 24 hours''. The film opened in Kerala theatres on 11 February 2011 to negative reviews. Taurani under Tips Industries, the film stars Anil Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Katrina Kaif, and Sameera Reddy. ''The Race'' is a 2014 literary science fiction novel by English writer Nina Allan. It is her debut novel and was first published in August 2014 in the United Kingdom by NewCon Press. A second edition of the book, in which an appendix was added, was published by Titan Books in July 2016. The race film or race movie was a genre of film produced in the United States between about 1915 and the early 1950s, consisting of films produced for African American, black audiences, and featuring black casts. Approximately five hundred race films were produced. Of these, fewer than one hundred remain. Because race films were produced outside the Cinema of the United States, Hollywood studio system, they were largely forgotten by mainstream film historians until they resurfaced in the 1980s on the Black Entertainment Television, BET cable network.
