Quebec Route 138
Route 138 is a major highway in the Canadian province of Quebec, following the entire north shore of the St. Lawrence River past Montreal to the temporary eastern terminus in Kegashka on the Gulf of St. Lawrence. The western terminus is in Elgin, at the border with New York State south-west of Montreal (connecting with New York State Route 30 at the Trout River Border Crossing). Part of this highway is known as the '' Chemin du Roy'', or King's Highway, which is one of the oldest highways in Canada. It passes through the Montérégie, Montreal, Lanaudière, Mauricie, Capitale-Nationale and Côte-Nord regions of Quebec. In Montreal, Highway 138 runs via Sherbrooke Street, crosses the Pierre Le Gardeur Bridge to Charlemagne and remains a four-lane road until exiting Repentigny. New York State Route 30
New York State Route 30 (NY 30) is a state highway in the central part of New York in the United States. It extends for from an interchange with NY 17 (Future Interstate 86) in the Southern Tier to the US–Canada border in the state's North Country, where it continues into Quebec as Route 138. On a regional level, the route serves to connect the Catskill Park to the Adirondack Park. In the latter, NY 30 is known as the Adirondack Trail. Aside from the state parks, the route serves the city of Amsterdam (where it meets the New York State Thruway) and several villages. Saguenay River
__NOTOC__ The Saguenay River (, ) is a major river of Quebec, Canada. It drains Lac Saint-Jean in the Laurentian Highlands, leaving at Alma and running east; the city of Saguenay is located on the river. It drains into the Saint Lawrence River. Tadoussac, founded as a French colonial trading post in 1600, is located on the northeast bank at this site. The river has a very high flow-rate and is bordered by steep cliffs associated with the Saguenay Graben. Tide waters flow in its fjord upriver as far as Chicoutimi (about 100 kilometres). Quebec Autoroute 40
Autoroute 40, officially known as Autoroute Félix-Leclerc outside Montreal and Metropolitan Autoroute/Autoroute Métropolitaine within Montreal, is an Autoroutes of Quebec, Autoroute on the north shore of the St. Lawrence River in the Provinces and territories of Canada, Canadian province of Quebec. It is one of the two major connections between Montreal and Quebec City, the other being Quebec Autoroute 20, Autoroute 20 on the south shore of the St. Lawrence. Autoroute 40 is currently long. Charlemagne, Quebec
Charlemagne () is a city in the Canadian province of Québec on the north shore of the Rivière des Prairies, northeast of the city of Montréal’s downtown core. As of 2021, the population was 6,302. Pierre Le Gardeur Bridge
The Le Gardeur Bridge is a beam bridge that connects the east end of the island of Montreal, in Pointe-aux-Trembles, to Repentigny. The bridge has two sections across the Rivière des Prairies, which are separated by Île Bourdon. The length of the structures is (west) and (east). Built in 1939, the bridge underwent a major reconstruction in 2001 as well as the addition of a reserved lane for the Metrobus on the eastern structure. The work included the demolition, reconstruction and widening of the bridge deck, which included the new transit lane, and its approaches as well as the rehabilitation of the 24 pillars. The Ministry of Transport also made emergency repairs in 1999 to solidify the structure, and frequent inspections were made between 1999 and the reconstruction of the bridge, which was estimated at over $26 million. Sherbrooke Street
Sherbrooke Street (officially in ) is a major east–west artery and at in length, is the second longest street on the Island of Montreal, Canada. The street begins in the town of Montreal West, Quebec, Montreal West and ends on the extreme tip of the island in Pointe-aux-Trembles, intersecting Gouin Boulevard and joining up with Notre-Dame Street. Mauricie
Mauricie () is a traditional and current administrative region of Quebec. La Mauricie National Park is contained within the region, making tourism in Mauricie popular. The region has a land area of 35,860.05 km2 (13,845.64 sq mi) and a population of 266,112 residents as of the 2016 Census. Its largest cities are Trois-Rivières and Shawinigan. The word ''Mauricie'' was coined by local priest and historian Albert Tessier and is based on the Saint-Maurice river which runs through the region on a North-South axis.
