Production And Decay Of Strange Particles
"Production and Decay of Strange Particles" is an episode of the original '' The Outer Limits'' television show. It first aired on 20 April 1964, during the first season. In a nuclear research plant, although the workers wear radiation suits, they are taken over by some odd glowing substance. It fills their suits and causes them to act like puppets. The episode mentions many modern physics concepts such as neutrinos, antimatter, quasi-stellar objects (at that time just discovered and perhaps mentioned here in TV fiction for the first time) and subatomic particles with the property of " strangeness" (a quantum property of matter which had been named only a few years before by physicists, despite objection at the time that it was no more "strange" or odd than any other property of subatomic particles). ''The Outer Limits'' is an American television series that was broadcast on ABC from September 16, 1963, to January 16, 1965, at 7:30 PM Eastern Time on Mondays. It is often compared to ''The Twilight Zone'', but with a greater emphasis on science fiction stories (rather than stories of fantasy or the supernatural). Paul Lukather
Paul Lukather (August 24, 1926 – October 9, 2014) was a veteran actor known for his vast array of work across stage, television and voice-over work. Lukather graduated from Drake University and Yale University. He won the Barter Award, which was given to the year's most outstanding young actor, and he acted in productions of the Barter Theatre. For most of the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s, Lukather worked in television and film; from the late 1980s into the 1990s, he primarily worked as a voice-over artist known for many video games, including the ''Legacy of Kain'' series where he voiced Vorador. Robert Fortier (November 5, 1926 – January 1, 2005) was an American film, television and theatre actor. He was known for playing Scotty in the American adventure television series ''The Troubleshooters''. Life and career Fortier was born in West Hollywood, California. Quasi-stellar Object
A quasar is an extremely luminous active galactic nucleus (AGN). It is pronounced , and sometimes known as a quasi-stellar object, abbreviated QSO. This emission from a galaxy nucleus is powered by a supermassive black hole with a mass ranging from millions to tens of billions of solar masses, surrounded by a gaseous accretion disc.
