Peter O'Brien (outfielder)
Peter Robert O'Brien (born July 15, 1990) is an American professional baseball left fielder for the Pericos de Puebla of the Mexican League. He previously played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Arizona Diamondbacks and Miami Marlins. Amateur career O'Brien attended G. Holmes Braddock High School in Miami, Florida. He played for the school's baseball team, and transitioned to catcher during his senior year. Unselected in the 2008 MLB draft, O'Brien chose to enroll at Bethune–Cookman University, where he played college baseball for the Bethune–Cookman Wildcats team in the Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference (MEAC). In 2010, he was named MEAC player of the year. After the 2010 season, he played collegiate summer baseball with the Bourne Braves of the Cape Cod Baseball League. Peter Michael "Pete" O'Brien (born February 9, 1958) is a former first baseman in Major League Baseball who played for the Texas Rangers ( 1982– 88), Cleveland Indians (1989), and Seattle Mariners (1990– 93). He batted and threw left-handed. Early years Born in Santa Monica, California, he was the youngest of seven children of Jimmy and Janice O'Brien. Raised in the Pebble Beach / Monterey area, O'Brien graduated from Carmel High School in 1976. Peter O'Brien was a Gaelic football goalkeeper from Killarney, County Kerry, Ireland. He played with the Dr. Crokes club and the Kerry intercounty team. He played with the Kerry senior team for one season in 1995. After playing underage football, at a senior club level, O'Brien won Kerry Senior Football Championship titles in 1991 and 2000. The 1991 title was the first win since 1914 for Dr. Crokes. Peter Thomas O'Brien (born 6 November 1935) is an Australian clergyman, missionary and New Testament scholar. He has written commentaries on Ephesians, Philippians, Colossians, Philemon, and Hebrews as well as books and articles on aspects of the thought the apostle Paul. Ministry O'Brien was converted at the age of nineteen, and studied at Moore Theological College and the University of Manchester. He taught at Union Biblical Seminary in Yavatmal, India, before returning to Moore as a lecturer, later serving as Vice Principal. While teaching at Moore he was a Recognised Teacher in Divinity at the University of Sydney. He is a priest in the Anglican Diocese of Sydney. Peter O'Brien (c. 1842 – September 30, 1898) was an American soldier who fought in the American Civil War. O'Brien received his country's highest award for bravery during combat, the Medal of Honor. O'Brien's medal was won for capturing a Confederate flag, and an officer with his horse and equipment, at the Battle of Waynesboro, Virginia, on March 2, 1865. He was honored with the award on March 26, 1865. O'Brien was born in Dublin, Ireland. He joined the US Army from New York City in August 1861, and mustered out with his regiment in June 1865.
