Per Jacobsen
Per Jacobsen (23 March 1911 – 13 June 1944) was a Norwegian figure skater ( national champion in 1931 and 1932), and a resistance member who was killed during World War II. Early and personal life Jacobsen was born in Kristiania as the son of Sigval Jacobsen (1867-1928) and Agathe, née Backer Røed (1876-1925). His father hailed from Kristiania and his mother from Holmestrand. Jacobsen studied economics and auditing. He was Norwegian champion in figure skating in 1931, and again in 1932. World War II During the Norwegian Campaign, he fought for Norway in battles in the Oppland district. During the subsequent occupation of Norway by Nazi Germany, he became involved in the Norwegian resistance movement. Among others, he was a member during the brief existence of the group Skylark A, established by the Secret Intelligence Service in September 1940. Figure Skating
Figure skating is a sport in which individuals, pairs, or groups perform on figure skates on ice. It was the first winter sport to be included in the Olympic Games, when contested at the 1908 Olympics in London. The Olympic disciplines are men's singles, women's singles, pair skating, and ice dance; the four individual disciplines are also combined into a team event, first included in the Winter Olympics in 2014. The non-Olympic disciplines include synchronized skating, Theater on Ice, and four skating. From intermediate through senior-level competition, skaters generally perform two programs (the short program and the free skate), which, depending on the discipline, may include spins, jumps, moves in the field, lifts, throw jumps, death spirals, and other elements or moves. Ullevål University Hospital
Ullevaal Stadion () is an all-seater football stadium located in Oslo, Norway. It is the home ground of the Norway national football team, and the site of the Norwegian Cup Final. From its opening in 1926 to 2009 it was the home ground of FK Lyn and from 1999 to 2017 was a home ground of Vålerenga IF. With a capacity of approximately 28,000, it is the largest football stadium in Norway. The national stadium is fully owned by the Football Association of Norway (NFF). The stadium opened on 26 September 1926 as the home ground for Lyn and several other local teams. ''Nacht und Nebel'' (German: ), meaning Night and Fog, was a directive issued by Adolf Hitler on 7 December 1941 targeting political activists and resistance "helpers" in the territories occupied by Nazi Germany during World War II, who were to be imprisoned, murdered, or made to disappear, while the family and the population remained uncertain as to the fate or whereabouts of the alleged offender against the Nazi occupation power. Johan Schreiner
Johan Christian Schreiner (25 May 1903 – 8 October 1967) was a Norwegian historian. He was a professor at the University of Oslo, and his speciality was the Middle Ages. Personal life He was born in Drøbak as a son of historian Kristian Schreiner (1874–1957) and physician and anthropologist Alette Schreiner (1873–1951), and grew up in Kristiania. He was married briefly to his youth friend, later editor, Minister of Social Affairs, and member of Parliament Kirsten Hansteen, from 1928, and from 1930 he was married to Astri Høst. While he was a student he was a member of the radical political organization ''Mot Dag''. Through his brother Fredrik, Johan Schreiner was an uncle of economist and civil servant Per Schreiner. Career Schreiner finished his secondary education in 1921, and enrolled at the University of Oslo where he majored in history in 1927. Christian August Manthey Lange (28 April 1907 – 6 August 1970) was a Norwegian educator, non-fiction writer and cultural attaché. Personal life Lange was born in Kristiania, the son of politician and Nobel Laureate Christian Lous Lange (1869–1938) and his wife Bertha Manthey (1867–1947). He was a brother of politician and Minister of Foreign Affairs Halvard Lange, and of Parliament of Norway member Carl Viggo Manthey Lange. He spent part of his childhood in Brussels, where his father had a position as secretary-general of the Inter-Parliamentary Union. Career Lange finished his secondary education in 1924, enrolled subsequently at the University of Oslo where he studied history, and graduated as cand.philol. in 1933.
