Public Art In Nørrebro
Nørrebro (one of the 10 official districts of Copenhagen), Denmark is an active community that nurtures an environment in which creativity is ever-present in daily life. Both social and political Activism have been an intrinsic part of the artistic works produced on Nørrebro. In recent history, works with a temporary existence have dominated in Nørrebro. Nørrebro
Nørrebro (, ) is one of the 10 official districts of Copenhagen Municipality, Denmark. It is northwest of the city centre, beyond the location of the old Northern Gate (''Nørreport''), which, until dismantled in 1856, was near the current Nørreport station. Geography Nørrebro has an area of and a population of 71,891. It is bordered by Indre By to the southeast, Østerbro to the northeast, Bispebjerg to the northwest and Frederiksberg Municipality to the southwest. History Before 1852, Nørrebro was in the countryside. Søren Georg Jensen
Søren Georg Jensen (4 October 1917 – 20 September 1982) was a Danish silversmith and sculptor. Son of the noted silversmith Georg Jensen, he was the artistic director of the Georg Jensen Silversmithy from 1962 to 1974. Early life and education Born in Copenhagen, Jensen was trained as a silversmith by his father, Georg Jensen. He then attended Bizzie Høyer's drawing school (1931–36) before studying sculpture at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts under Einar Utzon-Frank (1941–45). In 1946, he completed his studies under the Russian sculptor Ossip Zadkine in Paris. Jørgen Haugen Sørensen
Jørgen Haugen Sørensen (; 3 October 1934 – 18 November 2021) was one of Denmark's most eminent sculptors. He had his artistic debut at the acclaimed and prestigiouSpring Exhibition(''Forårsudstillingen'') at Kunsthal Charlottenborg, Copenhagen in 1953. Haugen Sørensen was a member of the artistic unioDecembristerneand the artist collective Grønningen, as well as Veksølund in Denmark.
