A prince is a Monarch, male ruler (ranked below a king, grand prince, and grand duke) or a male member of a monarch's or former monarch's family. ''Prince'' is also a title of nobility (often highest), often hereditary title, hereditary, in some European State (polity), states. The female equivalent is a princess. Prince's Theatre
The Shaftesbury Theatre is a West End theatre, located in Shaftesbury Avenue, in the London Borough of Camden. It opened in 1911 as the New Prince's Theatre, with a capacity of 2,500. The current capacity is 1,416. The title "Shaftesbury Theatre" belonged to another theatre lower down the avenue between 1888 and 1941. The Prince's adopted the name in 1963. The theatre, the last to be built in Shaftesbury Avenue, was originally intended to house popular melodramas, but has presented a wide range of productions, including Shakespeare, farce, opera, ballet and revue. Companies based at the theatre for London seasons have included the D'Oyly Carte Opera Company, the Ballets Russes, Sadler's Wells Opera, Sadler's Wells Ballet, the Royal Swedish Ballet and the dance companies of Uday Shankar and Pearl Primus. ''Princes'' is a young adult novel by Australian novelist Sonya Hartnett, first published in 1997 in Australia by Viking Press. Synopsis Two twins, locked up in what might be a tower, play minds games with each other. They tell each other horror stories about death, poisoning, rats, dissection, starvation, hideous floggings and murder. Critical response ''Publishers Weekly'' noted the author's "cool bravado" which "could attract a type of cult following" though they wondered if any "adult who would purchase this violent book for a teenager." The Princes (Estonian Band)
The Princes is an Estonian rock band. The band was formed in 2009 by Edward Krimm (lead vocals, piano, keyboards) and Jaagup Tormis (drums, percussion, vocals), the grandson of one of the greatest living choral composers Veljo Tormis. The current lineup consists of Edward Krimm, Jaagup Tormis, Kaur Garšnek (guitar) and Valdur Viiklepp (bass guitar, vocals). All the members have a musical background and have taken part in other musical groups as well. Most notably, Jaagup Tormis has played in Sinine and Pedigree, Kaur Garšnek (a son of Igor Garšnek, a keyboardist of one of the foremost Estonian rock group Ruja) has played in Kreatiivmootor. Princes Ice Hockey Club
Princes Ice Hockey Club were one of the most influential early European ice hockey teams and is sometimes considered the first ice hockey club in Britain. Founded in late 1896, the team was based at Prince's Skating Club in Hammersmith. They initially played three other teams founded around the same time, Niagara, Brighton and Royal Engineers. London Canadians were founded at the same rink in 1902, and both teams participated in Europe's first ice hockey league, held from November 1903 to February 1904. The dock is named for one prince; the Prince Regent, only. is a dock on the River Mersey, England, and part of the Port of Liverpool. It is the most southerly of the docks situated in the northern part of the Liverpool dock system, connected to Prince's Half-Tide Dock to the north. Prince's (ward)
Prince's ward was an administrative division of the London Borough of Lambeth, England from 1965 to 2022. It was located in the north of the borough, bounded by the River Thames on the west and Kennington Park Road on the east. It was made up of much of Kennington and Vauxhall. Prince's ward was located in the Vauxhall parliamentary constituency and was one of four wards in the borough's north Lambeth division. Prince's contained two schools: Archbishop Sumner Primary School, and Vauxhall Primary School.
