Philippine College Of Commerce And Business Administration
The Philippine College of Commerce and Business Administration (PCCBA) is the former name of the University of the East, Manila, Philippines. Established in 1946. On September 11, 1946, five people from the Far Eastern University, namely Francisco Dalupan, Sr., Hermenegildo Reyes, José L. Torres, Jaime Hernández and Santiago de la Cruz established the Philippine College of Commerce and Business Administration (PCCBA). Four days later, it was deemed a corporation existing under Philippine law. A business educator himself, Francisco Dalupan establish PCCBA in two rented rooms along Dasmarinas Street, Manila. The success of its CPA reviewers, four of whom secured the top four post and 100 passers out of the 110 enrolled, made the humble review center popular. The University of the East ( fil, Pamantasan ng Silangan), also known as UE, is a leading private university located in Manila, Philippines. Founded in 1946, business tycoon Lucio Tan acquired the university in 1990. UE was once labeled as the "largest university in Asia" when its enrollment in the past reached over 65,000 students. The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) granted UE autonomous status and recognized 2 of its programs as Center of Excellence and 1 program as Center of Development. Hermenegildo B. Reyes, KGCR (March 31, 1898 – 1982) co-founded the University of the East, was a Boy Scouts of the Philippines Scouting notable, Filipino educator, lawyer, mechnical and electrical engineer. Reyes served on the World Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement from 1961 to 1967. Early life Reyes was born in Malolos, Bulacan, to Vicente Tantoco Reyes and his wife, Olympia San Agustin-Reyes.
