Peter McIntyre (Manitoba Politician)
Peter Campbell McIntyre (February 5, 1854 – October 30, 1930) was a printer and political figure in Manitoba. He represented Winnipeg North from 1892 to 1899 in the Legislative Assembly of Manitoba as a Liberal. He was born in Balderson, Lanark County, Canada West, the son of Hugh McIntyre, a native of Scotland, and Janet Campbell, who was born in Canada. After completing his schooling in Balderson and Perth, McIntyre taught school for eight years in all, the last two years in Winnipeg, Manitoba Winnipeg () is the capital and largest city of the province of Manitoba in Canada. Winnipeg North was a provincial electoral division in Manitoba, Canada. It existed on two separate occasions. It was initially created for the 1883 provincial election, and abolished with the 1920 election when Winnipeg became a single, ten-member constituency. Winnipeg North was re-established for the elections of 1949 and 1953 as a four-member constituency. In 1958, it was divided into several single-member constituencies. The Manitoba Liberal Party (french: Parti libéral du Manitoba) is a political party in Manitoba, Canada. Its roots can be traced to the late 19th century, following the province's creation in 1870. The Province of Canada (or the United Province of Canada or the United Canadas) was a British colony in North America from 1841 to 1867. Perth is a town in Eastern Ontario, Canada. It is located on the Tay River, southwest of Ottawa, and is the seat of Lanark County. History The town was established as a military settlement in 1816, shortly after the War of 1812. The settlement of Lanark County began in 1815.
