People's Freedom Party (Russia)
The People's Freedom Party (), often known by its short form PARNAS (), and formerly the Republican Party of Russia – People's Freedom Party, and initially Republican Party of Russia, was a Liberalism in Russia, liberal-democratic political parties in Russia, political party in Russia. It was one of the first opposition parties founded in the final years of the Soviet Union. People's Freedom Party "For Russia without Lawlessness and Corruption" (PARNAS; ; ''Partiya narodnoy svobody «Za Rossiyu bez proizvola i korruptsiyi»'', ''PARNAS'') was a liberal-democratic political party in Russia founded on 13 December 2010 by opposition politicians Vladimir Ryzhkov, Boris Nemtsov, Mikhail Kasyanov and Vladimir Milov and ''de facto'' dissolved on 16 June 2012 (merged into RPR-PARNAS party). The name is a reference to the original liberal-democratic Party of Popular Freedom. The party is strongly critical of Putin's regime. Constitutional Democratic Party
The Constitutional Democratic Party (, K-D), also called Constitutional Democrats and formally the Party of People's Freedom (), was a political party in the Russian Empire that promoted Western constitutional monarchy—among other policies—and attracted a base ranging from moderate conservatives to mild socialists. Party members were called Kadets (or Cadets) from the abbreviation K-D of the party name. Konstantin Kavelin's and Boris Chicherin's writings formed the theoretical basis of the party's platform. Historian Pavel Miliukov was the party's leader throughout its existence.
