People's Artist of the Tajik SSR (Народный артист Таджикской ССР), is an honorary title awarded to citizens of the Tajik SSR in the Soviet Union. The Tajik Soviet Socialist Republic,, ''Çumhuriji Şūraviji Sotsialistiji Toçikiston''; russian: Таджикская Советская Социалистическая Республика, ''Tadzhikskaya Sovetskaya Sotsialisticheskaya Respublika'' also commonly known as Soviet Tajikistan and Tajik SSR, was one of the constituent republics of the Soviet Union which existed from 1929 to 1991 located in Central Asia. The Tajik Republic was created on 5 December 1929 as a national entity for the Tajik people within the Soviet Union. It succeeded the Tajik Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (Tajik SSR), which had been created on 14 October 1924 as a part of the predominantly Turkic Uzbek SSR in the process of national delimitation in Soviet Central Asia. Mayram Isoeva
Mayram Ne'matovna Isoeva ( tg, Марям Неъматовна Исоева) (born May 1, 1937) was a Tajikistani actress of the Soviet era. Born in the village of Sari Khosor in the Kulob District, Isoeva graduated from middle school in Dushanbe in 1954. Two years later she enrolled in the Lunacharsky Institute of Dramatic Arts, from which she graduated in 1960. She next spent a year at the Pushkin Musical and Comedy Theater in Khujand, then called Leninabad, before joining the roster of the Lahuti Academy of Dramatic Arts. In 1971 she became a member of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union. Isoeva played main roles in tragedies and dramas during her career. She first won notice for her portrayal of Arina in ''Poverty is No Vice'' by Aleksandr Ostrovsky, a role which she took on during her studies. People's Artist of the USSR ( rus, Народный артист СССР, Narodny artist SSSR), also sometimes translated as National Artist of the USSR, was an honorary title granted to artists of the Soviet Union. Nomenclature and significance The term is confusingly used to translate two Russian language titles: Народный артист СССР (fem. Народная артистка СССР), awarded in performing arts and Народный художник СССР, granted in some visual arts. Each Soviet Republic, as well as the Autonomous Republics (ASSRs), had a similar award held previously by virtually every receiver of the higher title of People's Artist of the USSR. Oydina Usmonova
Oydina Yahioevna Usmonova (Tajik: Ойдина Усмонова; 10 January 1928 – 2014) was a Tajik stage actress of the Soviet era. Born in Samarkand, Usmonova began acting in her youth. In 1944 she was accepted by the Pushkin Music and Drama Theatre in Khujand, at the time called Leninabad. That year she went to Dushanbe to work at the Sadriddin Ayni State Theatre for Opera and Ballet, where she continued to be listed as a member of the company until 1949. In that year she returned to Leninabad to the Pushkin Music and Drama Theatre to continue her career. Her work there was varied; among the roles she performed were Desdemona in ''Othello'' and Larisa in '' Without a Dowry'' by Aleksandr Ostrovsky. Sofia Erjonovna Tuibayeva (sometimes transliterated Tuyboeva) ( tg, София Эрҷоновна Тӯйбоева) (January 30, 1913 – October 26, 1996) was a Tajikistani actress of the Soviet era. Born in Kazalinsk, Tuibayeva began her career in Bukhara in the mid-1920s. Between 1929 and 1931 she was an actress at the Hamza Dramatic Theater in Tashkent; in 1931 she joined the Lahuti State Academy of Dramatic Arts. Her career gained momentum in the 1930s; among her roles at this point were Juliet in ''Romeo and Juliet'' and Nadezhda Krupskaya in ''The Storm'' by Ghani Abdullo and Shamsi Qiyomov. Bashoratkhon Tojiboeva ( tg, Башоратхон Тоҷибоева) (November 10, 1916 – August 20, 1965) was a Tajikistani actress of the Soviet era. Tojiboeva was born in Namangan. Little is known about her early life and career; she is first recorded as having worked with the Konibodom Comedy and Drama Theater from 1932 to 1934. Beginning in the latter year and continuing to 1935, she worked for the Nav Drama and Music Theater, and between 1936 and 1938 she worked for the Chikalov Drama Theater. In 1938 she joined the Pushkin Comedy and Music Theater of Khujand, then known as Leninabad, where she would remain on the roster for the rest of her life. Toji Sultonova (Tajik: Тоҷӣ Султонова) sometimes called Toji Sulton (Tajik: Тоҷӣ Султон; February 9, 1918 – 2010) was a Tajikistani actress of the Soviet era. Sultonova was born in Khujand. Beginning in 1929, she studied at the Factory School of the Kombinat, continuing until 1933; during her time there she performed with the Kombinat amateur theatrical troupe as well. In 1934 she was invited to join the company of the Pushkin Music and Drama Theater in her native city, then called Leninabad. She remained with the theater until retiring from the stage in 1976. Sabzajon Shoismoilova ( tg, Сабзаҷон Шоисмоилова; 10 May 1923 – 2001) was a Tajikistani singer and actress of the Soviet era. Shoismoilova was born in Rushon, in the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, and began her career performing with a number of different of amateur groups, beginning in 1936. Nigina Raufova ( tg, Нигина Рауфова) (May 21, 1945 – December 22, 2010) was a Tajikistani singer and composer, active beginning in the Soviet era. Biography Born in the village of Shirmon in the Faizobod District, Raufova began her performing career working with the amateur groups of the Kombinat of Weavers in Dushanbe. Her singing career started in 1971, when she became a member of the Ensemble of Rebab Players. She began to sing for Tajikistan Radio and Television in 1975. Nuqra Rahmatova
Nuqra Rahmatova ( tg, Нуқра Раҳматова) (born January 2, 1942) was a Tajikistani folk singer and dancer of the Soviet era. Rahmatova was born in the village of Bartang in the Rushon District of the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region, and received her early education in the public schools. She began her performing career as an amateur singer and dancer; in 1958 she became a soloist with the Tarona Ensemble and began to dance for the Tajikistan State Philharmonic Society. She studied voice at the Dushanbe Institute of Music from 1963 until 1967, in which year she became a soloist with the Maqomkhoni Ensemble; her teacher at the Institute was Ahmad Bobokulov.
