The Penn State Nittany Lions men's lacrosse team represents Pennsylvania State University in National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I college lacrosse. History Penn State was an independent varsity lacrosse program from 1913 through 1999 until it joined the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) from 2000-2009. Penn State was a member of the Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) Conference from 2010 -2014. Penn State joined the newly formed lacrosse Big Ten Conference (B1G) starting in 2015. The current head coach is Jeff Tambroni since 2011, who was hired after a successful ten-year run as head coach at Cornell, including making it to two championship weekends with a close loss in the 2009 NCAA finals. He is among the winningest Division I lacrosse coaches with 200 career wins, was 2009 USILA Division I Coach of the Year, and three-time conference Coach of the Year with Penn State. The 2017 NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship was played on Memorial Day weekend in May 2017 at Gillette Stadium in Foxborough, Massachusetts. This was the 47th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national championship for National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division I men's college lacrosse. Premier Lacrosse League
The Premier Lacrosse League (PLL) is a professional field lacrosse league in the United States. The league comprises eight teams. Its inaugural season debuted on June 1, 2019, and included a 14-week tour-based schedule taking place in 12 major-market cities. The league was founded by the American professional lacrosse player Paul Rabil and his brother Mike Rabil. Investors include the Chernin Group, the Raine Group and Joseph Tsai. History In September 2018, Bloomberg reported that Paul Rabil would be launching a new professional lacrosse league. Mac O'Keefe
Macaire Emeric "Mac" O'Keefe (born February 6, 1998, in Syosset, New York) is an American professional lacrosse player who currently plays for Archers Lacrosse Club in the Premier Lacrosse League and the San Diego Seals in the National Lacrosse League. He previously played college lacrosse at Penn State, where he is the NCAA's all time leading goal scorer. Early life and career O'Keefe was born in Plainview, New York, as one of two children to Lynann and Brian O'Keefe, and raised in Syosset, New York. Drew Adams
Drew Adams (born August 19, 1986 in Springfield, Pennsylvania) is a former professional lacrosse player who played for the Archers Lacrosse Club of the Premier Lacrosse League and the Long Island/New York Lizards of Major League Lacrosse. Adams played collegiately at Penn State University, where he was named an All American three times. Adams ranks first in PSU history with 694 career saves. Adams has enjoyed a successful career in Major League Lacrosse, winning his first championship in 2015. He has been an MLL All- Star 4 times, and has been named the leagues Goalie of the Year following the 2011, 2012, and 2015 seasons. Christopher James Hogan (born October 24, 1987) is an American former American football, football wide receiver who played in the National Football League (NFL) for 10 seasons. He played college football for the Monmouth Hawks football, Monmouth Hawks following three years of college lacrosse with the Penn State Nittany Lions men's lacrosse, Penn State Nittany Lions. Loyola Greyhounds Men's Lacrosse
The Loyola Greyhounds men's lacrosse team represents Loyola University Maryland in NCAA Division I lacrosse. Its home matches are played at the Ridley Athletic Complex. Charley Toomey has served as its head coach since 2006. It became a member of the Patriot League along with the university's other intercollegiate athletic programs on July 1, 2013. The Greyhounds were a member of the ECAC Lacrosse League from 2005 to 2013. It became the first member of the conference to win a national championship in 2012.
