Peek (data Type Operation)
In computer science, peek is an operation on certain abstract data types, specifically sequential collection (abstract data type), collections such as Stack (abstract data type), stacks and Queue (abstract data type), queues, which returns the value of the top ("front") of the collection without removing the element from the collection. It thus returns the same value as operations such as "pop" or "dequeue", but does not modify the data. The name "peek" is similar to the basic "push" and "pop" operations on a stack, but the name for this operation varies depending on data type and language. Peek is generally considered an inessential operation, compared with the more basic operations of adding and removing data, and as such is not included in the basic definition of these data types. However, since it is a useful operation and generally easily implemented, it is frequently included in practices, and in some definitions peek is included as basic, with pop (or analog) defined in terms ...

Polyether Ether Ketone
Polyether ether ketone (PEEK) is a beige coloured organic thermoplastic polymer in the polyaryletherketone (PAEK) family, used in engineering applications. It was invented in November 1978 and brought to market in the early 1980s by part of Imperial Chemical Industries (ICI), the PEEK division was acquired through a management buyout, giving rise to Victrex PLC. Synthesis PEEK polymers are obtained by step-growth polymerization by the dialkylation of bis phenolate salts. Typical is the reaction of 4,4'-difluorobenzophenone with the disodium salt of hydroquinone, which is generated in situ by deprotonation with sodium carbonate. The reaction is conducted around 300 °C in polar aprotic solvents - such as diphenyl sulfone. Properties PEEK is a semicrystalline thermoplastic with excellent mechanical and chemical resistance properties that are retained to high temperatures. The processing conditions used to mould PEEK can influence the crystallinity and hence the me ...

PEEK And POKE
In computing, PEEK and POKE are commands used in some high-level programming languages for accessing the contents of a specific Memory cell (computing), memory cell referenced by its memory address. PEEK gets the byte located at the specified memory address. POKE sets the memory byte at the specified address. These commands originated with machine code monitors such as the PDP-10, DECsystem-10 monitor; these commands are particularly associated with the BASIC programming language, though some other languages such as Pascal (programming language), Pascal and COMAL (programming language), COMAL also have these commands. These commands are comparable in their roles to Pointer (computer programming), pointers in the C (programming language), C language and some other programming languages. One of the earliest references to these commands in BASIC, if not the earliest, is in Altair BASIC. The PEEK and POKE commands were conceived in early personal computing systems to serve a variet ...
