Pedro Pablo Kuczynski
Pedro Pablo Kuczynski Godard (; born 3 October 1938), also known simply as PPK (), is a Peruvian economist, public administrator, and former politician who served as the 59th President of Peru from 2016 to 2018. He served as Prime Minister of Peru and as Minister of Economy and Finance during the presidency of Alejandro Toledo. Kuczynski resigned from the presidency on 23 March 2018, following a successful impeachment vote and days before a probable conviction vote. Since 10 April 2019 he has been in pretrial detention, due to an ongoing investigation on corruption, money laundering, and connections to Odebrecht, a public works company accused of paying bribes. Fernando Martín Zavala Lombardi (; born 16 February 1971) is a Peruvian politician, who was the Prime Minister of Peru from 28 July 2016 to 17 September 2017. Previously he was the President of Backus and Johnston, a subsidiary of SABMiller. From 2005 to 2006 he was Minister of Economy and Finance. Early life and education Zavala was born in Tacna in 1971 to José Zavala Rey de Castro and María Fedora Elisabeth Lombardi Oyarzu. Max "Maxime" Hans Kuczyński (2 February 1890 – 26 November 1967) was a German physician of Polish-Jewish origin. He was the father of the former President of Peru, Pedro Pablo Kuczynski. Biography Maxime Kuczyński was born in Berlin, as the son of Emma (''née'' Schlesinger) and Louis Kuczyński, both of Jewish Polish origin. He studied medicine and natural science at the University of Rostock. In 1913 he received his degree in philosophy, and in 1919 a degree in medicine.
