Patna–Mughalsarai Section
The Patna–Mughalsarai section, officially Patna–Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya section, is a railway line connecting in the Indian state of Bihar and in Uttar Pradesh. History The first rail track between Howrah and Delhi was via what was later named as Sahibganj loop and the first through train on the route was run in 1864. The Patna–Mughalsarai sector was ready around 1862. A "shorter main line" connecting Raniganj and Kiul was in position in 1871 and the opening of the Grand Chord in 1907 shortened the distance from Howrah to Delhi even further. Electrification While the Mughalsarai area was electrified in 1961–65, the rest of the Patna–Mughalsarai section was electrified in 1999–2002. Sector-wise electrification was as follows: Fatuha–Danapur 1999–2000, Danapur–Dildarnagar 2001–2002, Kuchman–Dilarnagar 1999–2000. Patna–Digha Ghat Line
Patna–Digha Ghat line was a railway line connecting Patna Junction and Digha Ghat railway station in the Indian city of Patna. It was constructed by the British in 1862, and functioned intermittently. The railway line was revived in 1962–63 and 2004 by the then Indian Railway Ministers, Jagjivan Ram and Lalu Prasad Yadav, respectively. Passenger train operations on the route were economically unviable due to low ridership. However, trains continued to run on the railway line in order to prevent encroachment. In August 2018, the railway line along with the surrounding land was transferred to the Bihar state government, which plans to convert it into a four- to six-lane roadway to ease traffic congestion in the city. The project is scheduled to be completed by mid-2021. The Oudh and Tirhut Railway was a Railway company operated in India. The Bengal Nagpur Railway was one of the companies which pioneered development of the railways in eastern and central India.
