Parque Olímpico De La Juventud
The Parque Olímpico de la Juventud, former Parque Polideportivo Roca, is a large park with sports facilities in southern Buenos Aires, Argentina. Located in Villa Soldati, by the Riachuelo River, Riachuelo, it was opened in 1979 by Osvaldo Cacciatore, ''de facto'' Mayor of Buenos Aires during the National Reorganization Process military dictatorship. History In 1840 Juan Manuel de Rosas, Governor of Buenos Aires Province, ceded this land to a man surnamed Lucero, who planted eucalyptus, pine trees, pear trees and quince trees, and installed a water mill. The property was known then as the Quinta del Molina, ''Mill's Country House''. After Mr. Lucero died the property was abandoned and occupied by poor families. By 1930 this area became a dumpsite. Youth Olympic Games
Youth Olympic Games is an international multi-sport event for athletes aged 15 to 18 years old. Organized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Games are held every four years in staggered summer and winter events consistent with the current Olympic Games format, though in reverse order with the Olympic Winter Games held in leap years instead of the Games of the Olympiad. Youth Olympic Village (Buenos Aires)
The Youth Olympic Village is an Olympic Village built for the 2018 Summer Youth Olympics in the district of Villa Soldati, a southern neighborhood of Buenos Aires. The village also hosted the closing ceremony. It is located within the limits of the Parque de la Ciudad, City Park, next to the Parque Polideportivo Roca, Roca Park and the Predio Ferial Olímpico. It consists of 1440 new apartments on 32 six-storeys buildings, totaling around 160,000 m2. During the YOG the village hosted 7500 people, 30% of which were located in 40 m2 apartments, with 4 beds, 2 bedrooms and one bathroom; while the other 70% lived in 65 m2 apartments, with 6 beds, 3 bedrooms and two bathrooms. Archery At The Youth Olympic Games
Archery has been included in the Summer Youth Olympics since their inauguration. As with archery at the Summer Olympics, only the recurve is competed. The VIII South American Games (Spanish: ''Juegos Sudamericanos''; Portuguese: ''Jogos Sul-Americanos'') were a multi-sport event held from 9 to 19 November 2006 in Buenos Aires, Argentina, with some events taking place in Mar del Plata (canoeing, cycling, futsal, handball, roller sports, rowing, triathlon).
