The ceremonial county of Shropshire, England (which comprises the local/unitary authorities of Shropshire Council and Telford and Wrekin), is divided into 5 parliamentary constituencies – 1 borough constituency and 4 county constituencies. As with all constituencies for the House of Commons in the modern age, each constituency elects one Member of Parliament by the first-past-the-post system. Helen Margaret Lilian Morgan (; born 9 April 1975) is a British Liberal Democrat politician and chartered accountant who has been Member of Parliament (MP) for North Shropshire since 2021. Shaun Davies (born 1986) is a British Labour Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament for Telford since 2024. He gained the seat from the Conservatives. Early life In his maiden speech in Parliament, Shaun Davies spoke about his experiences of poverty as a child in Telford. He spoke of turning the lights off and hiding from debt collectors in his home, and of receiving free school meals. He lived with his grandmother from the age of 11. Matthew Roger Green (born 12 April 1970) is a British politician. He was the Liberal Democrat Member of Parliament for Ludlow from 2001 to 2005, and his party's spokesman on the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister. Parliamentary career He contested Wolverhampton South West in 1997 and was a councillor prior to his election to parliament. Green was elected MP for Ludlow at the 2001 United Kingdom general election, with a majority of 1,630. He was the first Liberal to represent Ludlow since 1886. Stuart Paul Anderson (born 17 July 1976) is a British Conservative Party politician who has been the Member of Parliament (MP) for South Shropshire since 2024. He was previously the MP for Wolverhampton South West from 2019 until 2024. He was Vice-Chamberlain of the Household from November 2023 until July 2024, as well as shadow Minister for Defence from July to November 2024. South Shropshire (UK Parliament Constituency)
South Shropshire is a county constituency in Shropshire. It was first created in 1832 and was represented by two Knights of the Shire. The constituency was abolished, along with North Shropshire, under the Redistribution of Seats Act 1885, with effect from the 1885 general election. The county was then split into four single-member constituencies: Ludlow, Newport, Oswestry and Wellington. Further to the completion of the 2023 Periodic Review of Westminster constituencies, the seat was re-established for the 2024 general election, formed from the current constituency of Ludlow with only minor boundary changes. It is sited on the River Severn, northwest of Wolverhampton, west of Telford, southeast of Wrexham and north of Hereford.
