Madhav Gothoskar
Madhav Gothoskar (born 30 October 1929) is an Indian former cricket umpire, born in Bombay. In his international umpiring career, Gothoskar stood in 14 Test matches from 1973 to 1983. He officiated in his only ODI game in 1981. In all, he umpired 58 first-class matches between 1967 and 1983. During a Test in Bangalore in September 1983, after Zaheer Abbas led the Pakistan team off the field late on the last day in the mistaken belief that the match should be declared over at that point, Gothoskar told him to bring the team back onto the field or the match would be awarded to India. The Pakistan team returned to the field. Gothoskar wrote his umpiring memoirs, ''The Burning Finger'', in 1992. In 2021, he was honoured for his contribution to Indian cricket by the Cricketers' Foundation. The Lal Bahadur Shastri Stadium, formerly known as Fateh Maidan, is a multi-purpose sports stadium in Hyderabad, Telangana. The stadium is primarily used for cricket and association football. Mudassar Nazar (Urdu: مدثر نذر; born 6 April 1956) is a Pakistani cricket coach and former cricketer with a career in Test cricket for Pakistan and in league cricket in Pakistan and England. He was an all-rounder and opening batsman who played 76 test and 122 one-day matches for Pakistan. After retiring from professional cricket, he has had a number of administrative positions in the cricketing world, including two stints as coach for Pakistan in 1993 and 2001, for Kenya and for several other teams. Mohinder Amarnath Bhardwaj (born 24 September 1950) is a former Indian cricketer and cricket analyst. He is the son of Lala Amarnath, the first post-independence captain of India. Mohinder was the vice captain of the Indian team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup, where he was the player of the final. Balwinder Sandhu
Balwinder Singh Sandhu (born 3 August 1956) is an Indian former Test cricketer. He represented India in eight Test matches as a medium pace bowler who could swing the ball and was a useful batsman. Sandhu was a member of the Indian team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup. Career A late starter in cricket, Sandhu's break came when he was spotted during a summer coaching camp by the former first class cricketer Yeshwant 'Baba' Sidhaye. In cricket, a batsman is not out if they come out to bat in an innings and have not been dismissed by the end of an innings. The batsman is also ''not out'' while their innings is still in progress. The Vidarbha Cricket Association Ground is a cricket ground located in the city of Nagpur. The ground is known as the VCA Ground and belongs to the Central Zone. The first match was played here in October 1969. As of 19 August 2017, it has hosted nine Tests and 14 ODIs. Syed Mujtaba Hussain Kirmani (; born 29 December 1949) is an Indian cricketer who played cricket for India and Karnataka as a wicket-keeper. In 2016, he was awarded the Col CK Nayudu Lifetime Achievement Award, the highest honour bestowed by BCCI on a former player. Kirmani was a member of the Indian team that won the 1983 Cricket World Cup . Dara Dotiwalla (30 October 1933 – 30 January 2019) was an Indian cricket umpire. Dotiwalla officiated in 14 international matches. He stood in six Test matches between 1982 and 1987, including only the second Tied Test ever tied, and eight One Day International games between 1982 and 1988. He died on 30 January 2019, aged 85.
