Pakistan Men's National Field Hockey Team
The Pakistan men's national field hockey team () represents Pakistan in international field hockey. Having played its first match in 1948, it is administered by the Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF), the governing body for Sport in Pakistan#Field hockey, hockey in Pakistan. It has been a member of the International Hockey Federation, International Hockey Federation (FIH) since 1948 and was founding member of the Asian Hockey Federation, Asian Hockey Federation (ASHF), which was formed in 1958. Pakistan is one of the most successful national field hockey teams in the world with a record four Men's FIH Hockey World Cup, Hockey World Cup wins (in 1971 Men's Hockey World Cup, 1971, 1978 Men's Hockey World Cup, 1978, 1982 Men's Hockey World Cup, 1982, and 1994 Men's Hockey World Cup, 1994). Field Hockey At The Summer Olympics
Field hockey made its debut at the Modern Olympic Games as a men's competition in the 1908 Games in London. It was removed from the Olympic schedule of the Summer Olympic Games for the 1924 Paris Games and was reintroduced in the 1928 Amsterdam Games. The Women's field hockey was introduced into the Olympic programme at the 1980 Moscow Olympics. The International Hockey Federation (FIH) was founded in 1924 and governs the hockey events. 1985 Men's Hockey Asia Cup
The 1985 Men's Hockey Asia Cup was the second edition of the Men's Hockey Asia Cup, the quadrennial international men's field hockey championship of Asia organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. It was held in Dhaka, Bangladesh from 20 to 28 January 1985. The defending champions Pakistan won its second Asian title by defeating India 3–2 in the final. The final was tied at 1–1 until the 83 minute, before Pakistan quickly scored 2 goals and India also netted one more for the eventual scoreline. 1982 Men's Hockey Asia Cup
The 1982 Men's Hockey Asia Cup was the first edition of the Asia Cup organized by Asian Hockey Federation (AHF). It was held in Karachi, Pakistan from 12 to 20 March 1982 and saw seven teams compete with an eighth (Japan) not being able to compete. Initially the competition was going to be held in Lahore, but due to the persistent rain, the event was moved to Karachi. Once there, the competition was contested in a round-robin format with each team competing against one another. After 21 matches were played, Pakistan took out the tournament winning all six matches to become the first champions of the Asia Cup ahead of India and China who finished with the silver and bronze respectively. The Men's Hockey Asia Cup is a men's international field hockey tournament organized by the Asian Hockey Federation. The winning team becomes the champion of Asia and qualifies for the FIH Hockey World Cup. South Korea are the defending champions, having won the 2022 edition. Field Hockey At The 2010 Asian Games
The Field hockey event at the 2010 Asian Games was held in Guangzhou, Guangdong, People's Republic of China, China from 13 November 2010 for women and 15 November 2010 for men. In this tournament, 10 teams played in the men's competition, and 7 teams in the women's competition. All matches were played at the Aoti Hockey Field. Pakistan became the field hockey Asian champions in the men's event and China in the women's event. Medalists Medal table Qualification Top 6 Asian teams, South Korea, India, Pakistan, Japan, China and Malaysia could enter the men's competition directly.
