Pact Of Territet
Pact of Territet () was an attempt to mend the long-standing dynastic feud between two Spanish House of Bourbon, Borbón branches and their supporters, known as the Alfonsism, Alfonsists and the Carlism, Carlists. In September 1931 it was agreed between two competitive exiled claimants, posing as Alfonso XIII and Infante Jaime, Duke of Madrid, Jaime III. The deal envisioned that a new Spanish constituent assembly would pronounce who should be the king, and both pretenders pledged to accept the verdict. It was also tacitly understood that the following king should be Infante Juan, Count of Barcelona, Juan de Borbón y Battenberg, descendant of the Alfonsist branch but supposed to embrace Traditionalism (Spain), Carlist political principles. Charles IV (; 11 November 1748 – 20 January 1819) was King of Spain and ruler of the Spanish Empire from 1788 to 1808. The Spain inherited by Charles IV gave few indications of instability, but during his reign, Spain entered a series of disadvantageous alliances and his regime constantly sought cash to deal with the exigencies of war. Luis Orgaz Yoldi
Luis Orgaz Yoldi (28 May 1881 in Vitoria-Gasteiz – 31 January 1946 in Madrid) was a Spanish general who was a leading figure of the Nationalist faction in the Spanish Civil War. He later went on to become a critic of the regime of Francisco Franco and agitated for the restoration of the monarchy. Early years He took part in the action of the Barranco del Lobo in July 1909, during the Second Melillan campaign. From his earliest days Orgaz was a staunch advocate of monarchism. As a consequence he was under a veil of suspicion during the tenure of Manuel Azaña, leading to Orgaz being placed under house arrest and then exiled in the Canary Islands in 1931. Luis Miguel Limia Ponte y Manso de Zúñiga, eighth ''Marqués de Bóveda de Limia'' (1882-1952) was a Spanish military leader who participated in the military uprising against the Second Spanish Republic which developed into the Spanish Civil War. He was a member of the Board of National Defense and held the position of Chief of State of the Nationalist faction between July 24 and October 3, 1936, and held the rank of Lieutenant General. Biography An aristocrat and landowner, in 1924 he was a colonel of cavalry. In 1931, when the Second Spanish Republic was proclaimed, serving as Brigadier General, he requested his retirement from active duty. Juan De La Cierva Y Peñafiel
Juan de la Cierva y Peñafiel ( - ) was a Spanish politician and lawyer, who served during the reign of Alfonso XIII as Minister of Public Instruction and Fine Arts, of the Interior, of War, and of Finance and Development, and in the last government of the monarchy as Minister of Development. Cierva was born Mula, Murcia, the son of lawyer and notary public Juan de la Cierva y Soto. He married a daughter of the banker Eleuterio Peñafiel, who was active between 1860 and 1896. He graduated in law from the University of Madrid, beginning his political career with the Spanish Partido Liberal-Conservador () as a councillor in 1895, and became the Mayor of Murcia and provincial leader of the Conservatives.
