Ososo
Ososo is a town situated in Akoko-Edo Local Government Area, in Edo State, Nigeria. With an average altitude of 1236 feet above sea level, it has a very temperate climate similar to that of Jos, Plateau State. The highest peak is a very large monolith often called the ''Oruku rock''. Description The town is made up of four clans: Anni, Egbetua, Okhe and Ikpena. With an approximated population of 100,000 and a combined population density of 5,111 per 7 km radius, it is one of the largest towns in the Local Government Area. Ososo has a unique dialect of the Ghotuo-Uneme-Yekhee branch of the Edoid linguistic lineage. Ososo shares boundaries with Okene to the north, Okpella to the East, Makeke to the west, Ojah to the South and Ogori to the north-west. The Edoid languages are a few dozen languages spoken in southern Nigeria. Edoid-speaking Ethnicity, ethnic groups are predominantly located in the States of Edo State, Edo and Delta State, Delta however, smaller Edoid-speaking communities are also present in the states of Ondo State, Ondo, Bayelsa State, Bayelsa, and Rivers State, Rivers. Monolith
A monolith is a geological feature consisting of a single massive stone or rock, such as some mountains. Akoko-Edo
Akoko Edo is a Local Government Area in Edo State, Nigeria. Its headquarters is in the town of Igarra. It has an area of 1,371 km and a population of 262,110 at the 2006 census. It consists of the Akoko people, who are split between Ondo and Edo States. Most are recognized as Yoruba and bear names identical to their counterparts in Akoko Ondo. The Benin conquests during the reign of Oba Ozolua (1483–1504) established its first settlements in the region, while other people including the Bida, migrated there in search of fortune. The war which Oba Esigie fought with the Attah of Idah in 1515–1516, would have also contributed to the migration of the Igbirra and Idah from the north and the east into the area. Okpella
Okpella is a clan situated along Benin-Abuja federal high way. Going by the last National Census figures, it has the population of 20,652 and is one of the three main towns that make up Etsako East Local Government Area of Edo State. It is made up of two sub-clans, each with their villages; Ogute sub-clan, which is made up of Ogute-Oke, Awuyemi, Imiekuri, Igiase and Imiegeli, Okhu villages, and Oteku sub-clan, comprising Komunio and Iddo. The language spoken in the clan is Okpella, a dialect of Bini which has evolved. Okpella is known for its natural sedimentary rock based mineral resources, which include gold, limestone, calcium, and granite, feldspar, talc, clay, marble, and it plays host to the defunct Bendel Cement Factory, BUA Cement Factory and Dangote Cement Factory. The flag of Nigeria was designed by Michael Taiwo Akinkunmi and was officially adopted to represent Nigeria at midnight on 1 October 1960, the Independence Day (Nigeria), day the country gained independence. Okene is a town in the Nigerian state of Kogi. The town is based in a Local Government Area of the same name. Okene runs along the A2 highway. It had an area of 328 km2 and a population of 320,260 at the 2006 census. The predominant people in Okene are the Ebira of central Nigeria and the Ebira language is spoken.
