Our Lady Of Ljeviš
Our Lady of Ljeviš ( sr-Cyrl-Latn, Богородица Љевишка, Bogorodica Ljeviška; ) is a 14th-century Serbian Orthodox Church, Serbian Orthodox church in the town of Prizren, in southern Kosovo. Since 2006, the church is part of the World Heritage Site, UNESCO World Heritage Site named Medieval Monuments in Kosovo. The church was built in the beginning of the 14th century on the orders of Stefan Milutin, List of Serbian monarchs, King of Serbia, on the site of a former Byzantine church. The rebuilt church featured frescoes by Byzantine painters, Michael Astrapas and Eutychios, Michael and Eutychios Astrapas. After the Ottoman Empire, Ottomans completed its annexation of the region in the 15th century, a minaret was erected and the complex was converted into a mosque. In 1912, when the Serbian army annexed Kosovo, the status of the church was restored. Our Lady of La Salette () is a Marian apparition reported by two French children, Maximin Giraud and Mélanie Calvat, to have occurred at La Salette-Fallavaux, France, in 1846. On 19 September 1851, the local bishop formally approved the public devotion and prayers to Our Lady of La Salette. On 21 August 1879, Pope Leo XIII granted a canonical coronation to the image now located within the Basilica of Our Lady of La Salette. Our Lady of the Hens or Madonna of the Hens () is a Roman Catholic title of the Blessed Virgin Mary venerated in honour of the Marian apparitions and miracles that are claimed to have occurred between 1609 and 1610 in Pagani, Campania. A large cult devotion has since developed, and a large church was built at the site that has since become a major site of Marian pilgrimage. On August 9, 2014, 18-year-old Michael Brown was shot and killed by police officer Darren Wilson in Ferguson, Missouri, a suburb of St. Louis. Brown was accompanied by his 22-year-old male friend Dorian Johnson. Wilson, a white male Ferguson police officer, said that an altercation ensued when Brown attacked him in his police vehicle for control of Wilson's service pistol. The struggle continued until the pistol fired. Johnson said that Wilson initiated a confrontation by grabbing Brown by the neck through Wilson's patrol car window, threatening him and then shooting at him.
