''Our God's Brother'' (, , ) is a 1997 drama film co-written and directed by Krzysztof Zanussi. A co-production between Poland, Italy and Germany, it is based on a play by Karol Wojtyła, the future Pope John Paul II, and it depicts real life events of priest and artist Albert Chmielowski. The film premiered out of competition at the 54th edition of the Venice Film Festival. Krzysztof Pius Zanussi (born 17 June 1939) is a Polish film and theatre director, producer and screenwriter. He is a professor of European film at the European Graduate School in Saas-Fee, Switzerland where he conducts a summer workshop. He is also a professor at the Krzysztof Kieślowski Film School of the University of Silesia in Katowice. Helena Modrzejewska (; born Jadwiga Helena Mizel; October 12, 1840 – April 8, 1909), known professionally in the United States as Helena Modjeska, was a Polish-American actress who specialized in Shakespearean and tragic roles.
