Országos Bajnokság I (men's Water Polo)
Országos Bajnokság I (, commonly abbreviated OB I) is the highest level water polo league for men in Hungary, that is administered and supervised by the Hungarian Water Polo Federation. Since 2009, after signed a four-year sponsorship contract with telecommunications company Vodafone, the competition is officially known as Vodafone OB I. Alfréd Hajós National Swimming Stadium
The Alfréd Hajós National Swimming Stadium is an aquatics complex located on Margaret Island in Budapest, Hungary.The facility has four floors, covers an area of about 80,000 square meters and has eight indoor and outdoor pools, including training pools, diving pools and competitive swimming pools both for short course and long course. The indoor swimming pool was built in 1930, off the plans of the renowned Hungarian swimmer and architect Alfréd Hajós, of whom the centre takes its name after. Eszter Pécsi, Hungary's first female architect and structural engineer, designed the articulated reinforced concrete arches. The outdoor swimming pool and the diving facility were completed in 1937, and since then they have expanded and improved several times. Kaposvár
Kaposvár (; also known by alternative names) is a city with county rights in southwestern Hungary, south of Lake Balaton. Kispest
Kispest (, lit. ''Little Pest'') is the 19th (XIX) district of Budapest, Hungary. It lies south-southeast of the historical Pest city. It was founded in 1871 on rural land as a village at the borderline of Pest, so it was named Kispest. History From 1880 to 1990 Kispest's population increased from 1820 to 72,838. Kispest became part of Greater Budapest in 1950. When the Soviet troops re-entered Budapest to subdue the civil uprising in October/November 1956, they approached the city centre from the south-east, up the Üllői Street, with some of the first street clashes taking place in Kispest. Népliget
Népliget or People's Park is the biggest public park in Budapest, Hungary. It is located southeast of the city centre, and covers an area of . It was established to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the union of Pest, Buda and Óbuda. The park is the site of the Planetarium, which is a laser theatre, and the E-klub, the biggest night club in Budapest. Circuit The park was the site of the 1936 Hungarian Grand Prix, held on roads within the park, as well as a round of the 1963 European Touring Car Challenge season. Ferencváros (, ) is the 9th district of Budapest (), Hungary. Name The southern suburb of Pest was named after King Francis II, Holy Roman Emperor, Francis I on 4 December 1792 when he was crowned king of Hungary. History The development of Ferencváros began in the late 18th century. In both 1799 and 1838, many buildings in Ferencváros were destroyed by flooding of the River Danube. Eger
Eger ( , ; ; also known by other #Names and etymology, alternative names) is the county seat of Heves County, and the second largest city in Northern Hungary (after Miskolc). Vasas SC (men's Water Polo)
The Vasas SC water polo team is a department of the Budapest-based sports association Vasas SC. One of the most successful teams in the country, they have won the Hungarian Championship 17 times and the Hungarian Cup 15 times. The club also had major successes on continental level as they won the LEN Euroleague (formerly European Champions Cup), Europe's premier water polo competition two times and took the LEN Cup Winners' Cup title on three occasions as well. UVSE (men's Water Polo)
UVSE (''full name'' UVSE Water Polo Sports Association) is a professional water polo club from Budapest, Hungary, founded in 2008. It was split off from Újpesti TE, which afterwards folded. They have teams in the men's and women's Hungarian First Division. The women have won the 2014–15 and the 2015–16 competition.
