Oregon's 52nd House District
District 52 of the Oregon House of Representatives is one of 60 House legislative districts in the state of Oregon. As of 2021, the boundary for the district contains all of Hood River County and portions of Clackamas, Multnomah, and Wasco counties. The district includes the population centers of Hood River and The Dalles as well as Mt. Hood. The current representative for the district is Republican Jeff Helfrich of Hood River. This is Helfrich's second stint representing this district in the state legislature after being appointed to the office in 2017 but losing re-election. The 2016 elections for the Oregon Legislative Assembly determined the composition of both houses for the 79th Oregon Legislative Assembly. The Republican and Democratic parties held primary elections on May 17, 2016 with general elections on November 8. Mark Johnson (born in 1957 in Parkdale, Oregon) is an American politician and a Republican former member of the Oregon House of Representatives representing District 52 from 2011 until 2017. Education Johnson attended Whitworth College (now Whitworth University). Resignation On October 6, 2017, Johnson was named executive director of Oregon Business Industry, a business lobbying organization, and resigned his seat November 6, 2017. The 2010 elections for the Oregon Legislative Assembly determined the composition of both houses for the 76th Oregon Legislative Assembly. The Republican and Democratic primary elections were on May 18, 2010, and the general election was held on November 2, 2010.
