Order Of Grenada
The Order of Grenada is a society of honour instituted through the ''Grenada National Honours Act'' of 1994. The Order was subsequently reconstituted and substantially reformed by the ''National Honours and Awards Act'' of 2007. The order recognises distinguished and outstanding service or meritorious service or achievement, or for gallantry. Nationals of Grenada and non-nationals may receive this order. King Charles III is the sovereign of the order in his capacity as King of Grenada. Appointment Appointments to the order are made by the governor-general of Grenada, as chancellor, who acts on the advice of the prime minister of Grenada and the National Awards Advisory Committee. The Crown
The Crown is a political concept used in Commonwealth realms. A dynasty is a sequence of rulers from the same family, usually in the context of a monarchical system, but sometimes also appearing in republics. "Hail Grenada" has been the national anthem of Grenada Grenada is an island country of the West Indies in the eastern Caribbean Sea. Sir Kirani Zeno James GCNG COG (born 1 September 1992) is a Grenadian professional sprinter who specializes in the 400 metres. He won the 400 m at the World Championships in 2011 and won the gold medal at the 2012 London Olympics. In the 400 metres, James also won the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, thus becoming the first man to earn the full set of three medals in the centennial history of the event. Warrant Officer Class 2 Johnson Gideon Beharry, (born 26 July 1979), is a British Army soldier who, on 18 March 2005, was awarded the Victoria Cross, the highest military decoration for valour in the British and Commonwealth armed forces. Saving members of his unit, the 1st Battalion Princess of Wales's Royal Regiment, from ambushes on 1 May and again on 11 June 2004 at Al-Amarah, Iraq, Beharry sustained serious head injuries in the latter engagement. Rosalind Patricia-Anne Howells, Baroness Howells of St Davids COG (born 10 January 1931) is a British Labour politician, who formerly served as member of the House of Lords. Sir Daniel Charles Williams COG (4 November 1935 – 2 October 2024) was a Grenadian lawyer who served as governor-general of Grenada from 8 August 1996 until 18 November 2008. The Most Excellent Order of the British Empire is a British order of chivalry, rewarding valuable service in a wide range of useful activities.
