Olympiacos Men's Waterpolo (, ), commonly referred to as Olympiacos, Olympiacos Piraeus or with its full name as Olympiacos CFP, is the professional men's water polo department of the major Greece, Greek Sports club, multi-sport club, Olympiacos CFP, based in Piraeus, Greece. The A1 Ethniki (), often referred to as the Greek Water Polo League, is the highest professional water polo league in Greece. It is run by the Hellenic Swimming Federation. It is considered one of the top national leagues in European water polo, as its clubs have made significant success in European competitions. 2015–16 LEN Champions League
The 2015–16 LEN Champions League was the 53rd edition of LEN's premier competition for men's Water Polo, water polo clubs. It ran from 4 September 2015 to 4 June 2016, and was contested by 27 teams from 13 countries. The Final Six (quarterfinals, semifinals, final, and third place game) took place on 2, 3 & 4 June in Budapest. Overview Team allocation 8 teams are directly qualified for the preliminary round. Ioannis Fountoulis
Ioannis Fountoulis (also Giannis, ; born 25 May 1988) is a Greek professional water polo player. He is currently the captain of Greece men's national water polo team, with whom he won a bronze medal at the 2015 World Championships, a bronze medal at the 2016 World League, 2020 World League and competed at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics. He played for the Greek powerhouse Olympiacos since 2009, and in 2018 he won the 2017–18 LEN Champions League with the Greek giants, scoring 4 goals in the final game against Pro Recco in Genoa. Josip Pavić (; born 15 January 1982) is a Croatian water polo player who competed in the 2008, 2012 and 2016 Summer Olympics, winning the gold medal in 2012 and the silver in 2016. He was widely regarded as the best goalkeeper in the 2012 Olympic tournament. He was named the best world water polo player in 2012, by FINA. Filip Filipović ( sr-Cyrl, Филип Филиповић; born 2 May 1987) is a Serbian professional water polo player widely considered to be one of the greatest players in the history of the sport. He was a member of the Serbia men's national water polo teams that won bronze medals at the 2008 and 2012 Olympics and gold medals in 2016 and 2020.
