Oklahoma Sooners Women's Soccer
The Oklahoma Sooners women's soccer team represents the University of Oklahoma in NCAA Division I College soccer in the United States, college soccer. The team competes in the Southeastern Conference, and plays its home games at John Crain Field in Norman, Oklahoma. The Sooners are currently led by head coach Matt Mott. History The Sooners women's soccer program was established in January 1996, becoming the school's 20th sport with Bettina Fletcher being named the first head coach three months later. Joe Castiglione (athletic Director)
Joseph Robert Castiglione (born October 8, 1957) is vice president for Intercollegiate Athletics Programs and Athletic director, Director of Athletics at the University of Oklahoma. Since his arrival at Oklahoma in April 1998, the school has won a total of twenty-five national championships in football (2000); softball (2000, 2013, 2016, 2017, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024); men's golf (2017); men's gymnastics (2002, 2003, 2005, 2006, 2008, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018); and women's gymnastics (2014, 2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2023). 2010 NCAA Division I Women's Soccer Tournament
The 2010 NCAA Division I women's soccer tournament (also known as the 2010 Women's College Cup) was the 29th annual single-elimination tournament to determine the national champion of NCAA Division I women's collegiate soccer. The semifinals and championship game were played at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina from December 3–5, 2010 while the preceding rounds were played at various sites across the country from November 12–28. Notre Dame defeated Stanford in the final, 1–0, to win their third national title. The Fighting Irish (21–2–2) were coached by Randy Waldrum. The 2010 Big 12 Conference women's soccer tournament was the postseason women's soccer tournament for the Big 12 Conference held from November 3 to 7, 2010. The 7-match tournament was held at the Blossom Athletic Center in San Antonio, TX with a combined attendance of 3,362. The 8-team single-elimination tournament consisted of three rounds based on seeding from regular season conference play. The Baylor Bears are the athletic teams that represent Baylor University. Texas Longhorns Women's Soccer
The Texas Longhorns women's soccer team represents the University of Texas at Austin in NCAA Division I intercollegiate soccer competition. The Longhorns competed in the Big 12 Conference through the 2024 season and moved to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) on July 1, 2024. History The program played club soccer intercollegiately in the 1980s, including a 1-0 loss to UNC in the 1983 WAGS tournament. Tennessee Volunteers Women's Soccer
The Tennessee Lady Volunteers soccer team represents the University of Tennessee (UT) in Knoxville, Tennessee in NCAA Division I women's soccer competition as a member of the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Along with all other UT women's sports teams, it used the nickname "Lady Volunteers" (or the short form "Lady Vols") until the 2015–16 school year, when the school dropped the "Lady" prefix from the nicknames of all women's teams except in basketball.
