Oceanos-Prêmio de Literatura em Língua Portuguesa (until 2014 Portugal Telecom Prize for Literature Portuguese language, Portuguese: ''Prêmio Portugal Telecom de Literatura'') is a Brazilian literary award established in 2003 by Portugal Telecom and awarded annually to Brazilian literature. From 2007 onwards, Portuguese-language works from other countries are also eligible. In 2014 Portugal Telecom was bought by the French company Altice (company), Altice. From 2015 on, the prize was named Oceanos- Prêmio de Literatura em Língua Portuguesa (''Oceans- Portuguese Language Literature Prize'') sponsored by Itaú Cultural foundation. Milton Hatoum
Milton Assi Hatoum (; born August 19, 1952) is a Brazilian people, Brazilian writer, translator and professor. Hatoum is one of Brazil's most eminent contemporary writers. Among other honors, Hatoum was awarded Brazil's most prestigious literary award, the Jabuti Prize, three times for best novel. In 2017, he received the title of Officier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres, Officier de L'Ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French government. Valter Hugo Mãe
Valter hugo mãe is the artistic name of the Portuguese writer Valter Hugo Lemos (born September 25, 1971). He is also an editor, singer and plastic artist. Valter hugo mãe received the José Saramago Prize in Literature in 2007 for his novel '' o remorso de baltazar serapião''. Marina Colasanti
Marina Colasanti (26 September 1937 – 28 January 2025) was an Italian-Brazilian writer, translator and journalist. Colasanti published more than 70 books between 1968 and 2017, including works of poetry, collections of short stories and children's literature, and won Brazil's prestigious Prêmio Jabuti multiple times. Early life Colasanti was born to Italian parents in Asmara, an old Italian colony in Eritrea, and lived in Tripoli, Libya during her infancy. Armando Martins de Freitas Filho (18 February 1940 – 26 September 2024) was a Brazilian poet. Early life and career Freitas was born in Rio de Janeiro on 18 February 1940, and was raised in the neighborhood of Urca. He was a fan of Fluminense. Considered a notable figure in modern Brazilian literature, he had as teachers Manuel Bandeira and Carlos Drummond de Andrade, whose works he would hear recited on CD by his father. The death of his girlfriend, fellow poet Ana Cristina César, greatly influenced his life. He also has organized and published her works posthumously. Francisco Buarque de Hollanda (born 19 June 1944), popularly known simply as Chico Buarque (), is a Brazilian singer-songwriter, guitarist, composer, playwright, writer, and poet. Beatriz Bracher (born August 7, 1961) is a Brazilian writer. Bracher was born in São Paulo, and studied Brazilian and Portuguese Literature at the Pontifical Catholic Universities of São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro. Cristóvão Tezza (born 21 August 1952) is a Brazilian novelist and university professor. Biography Cristóvão Tezza was born in Lages, Santa Catarina, Brazil in 1952, but moved to Curitiba in Paraná by the time he was ten.
