Frank O'Beirne
John Francis O'Beirne (1897 – 7 February 1978) was a farmer, businessman, Irish republican activist and Fianna Fáil politician in County Sligo. He served in Seanad Éireann from 1943 to 1944. War of Independence O'Beirne grew up in Collooney, and was an early supporter of Sinn Féin. He was arrested in February 1918 for unlawful assembly relating to commandeering of land for "conacre".Farry (1992), p. 118 He refused to post bail and was sentenced to six months' imprisonment. In February 1919, he was arrested for illegal fundraising in Collooney, again refused to post bail, and served three months. In June, he organised an ''aeraíocht'' (outdoor cultural festival) in Collooney. The Irish War of Independence was escalating, and O'Beirne was Officer Commanding of the Collooney Battalion of the Irish Republican Army (the "Old IRA"). Joseph O'Beirne
Patrick Joseph O'Beirne (15 June 1900 – 1980) was an Irish professional footballer who played as an inside forward. During a career spanning more than ten years, he played in the Football League for Stalybridge Celtic, Burnley and Nelson, in addition to spells with several non-league clubs. Outside of football, O'Beirne served with the British Army and worked in the printing industry. Biography Joseph Patrick O'Beirne was born on 15 June 1900 in the town of Waterford in south-east Ireland. He moved to Manchester, England with his family when he was young and grew up in the city, continuing to live there for the rest of his life, where he married Edith, his wife. They had a daughter called Patricia Ann. In his late teens, O'Beirne served in the Welch Regiment of the British Army. After retiring from professional football, he was employed as a typesetter for the Daily Mail and was also an Air Raid Precautions warden during the Second World War. Rocket from the Crypt is an American punk rock band from San Diego, California, originally active from 1990 to 2005, then active during 2011 and again from 2013 to the present. The band gained critical praise and the attention of major record labels after the release of their 1992 album '' Circa: Now!'', leading to a recording contract with Interscope Records. They experienced a surge of popularity with the release of the albums ''Scream, Dracula, Scream!'' (1995) and '' RFTC'' (1998), accompanied by numerous vinyl singles and EPs released on independent labels. Thomas O'Beirne
Thomas Lewis O'Beirne (1749 – 17 February 1823), was an Anglican bishop, Bishop of Ossory from 1795 to 1798 when he was translated to Meath. Life Born in 1749, the eldest son of a Roman Catholic farmer, he was educated at the Catholic College of St Omer before converting to Anglicanism. Ordained a priest in 1773, he was entered on the books of Trinity College, Cambridge as a ten-year man the same year. His ecclesiastical career began with a college living at Grendon, Northamptonshire 1774–1776, following which he was a naval chaplain under Admiral Howe in 1776. In 1776 he preached in St. Paul's Church in New York City. Later he was Vicar of West Deeping 1779-1783 and chaplain and private secretary to the Duke of Portland 1782–1783.
