Noble is a city in Cleveland County, Oklahoma, United States, and is part of the Oklahoma City Metropolitan Area. The population was 6,481 at the 2010 census. Noble is Cleveland County's third-largest city behind Norman and Moore. History On April 22, 1889, the day the first Oklahoma "Land Run" opened the Unassigned Lands in the middle of Indian Territory to settlers, J.W. Klinglesmith, Albert Rennie and several other businessmen forded the South Canadian River and laid claim to the town site that was to become Noble. The town was named in honor of Secretary of the Interior John Noble, who was instrumental in opening the Unassigned Lands to settlement. The group had great plans for Noble, hoping it would become the future county seat. The Santa Fe Railroad completed a railroad depot in Noble in August 1889. East Noble High School
East Noble High School is a public high school located in Kendallville, Indiana and is the only high school that is part of the East Noble School Corporation. It serves to educate more than 1,000 students from the cities and towns of Rome City, Brimfield, Kendallville, Avilla and LaOtto. About East Noble High School has its origins from the school consolidations that occurred in Indiana in the 1950s and 1960s, due to an act of the Indiana General Assembly. At that time, the high schools in Rome City, Avilla, and Kendallville were made into junior high/middle schools. Ligonier is a city in Perry Township, Noble County, in the U.S. state of Indiana. The population was 4,405 at the 2010 census. History Ligonier was platted in 1835. The city was named after the Pennsylvanian borough of the same name. A post office has been in operation at Ligonier since 1848. In 1940, a post office mural was completed by Fay E. Davis as a work commissioned through the federal Section of Painting and Sculpture, later called the Section of Fine Arts, of the Treasury Department. The mural, ''Cutting Timber'', depicts lumberjacks felling trees and removing them by oxcart.
