National Union Of Students Scotland
The National Union of Students Scotland ( gd, Aonadh Nàiseanta na Oileanaich na h-Alba, sco, Naitional Union o Collegianers Scotland) is an autonomous body within the National Union of Students. It is the national representative body of around 500,000 students studying in further and higher education in Scotland and was formed following the merger of NUS in Scotland with the Scottish Union of Students in 1971. As of 2020, the President of NUS Scotland is the sole full-time elected officer and is elected for a two-year term. The current President is Ellie Gomersall. The City of Glasgow College (Scottish Gaelic: ''Colaiste Baile Glaschu'') is a further and higher education college in the city of Glasgow. It was founded in 2010 when the Central College, Glasgow Metropolitan College, and the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies merged. It is the largest college and technical institution in Scotland. Located in Scotland's largest city, Glasgow, the college has two campuses; Riverside Campus situated on the River Clyde and City Campus located in the city centre. The City Campus was opened in 2016 and Riverside Campus was opened in 1969 as the Glasgow College of Nautical Studies and underwent an extensive refurbishment, opening in 2015. Scotland's Rural College
Scotland's Rural College (SRUC) is a public land based research institution focused on agriculture and life sciences. Its history stretches back to 1899 with the establishment of the West of Scotland Agricultural College and its current organisation came into being through a merger of smaller institutions. After the West of Scotland Agricultural College was established in 1899, the Edinburgh and East of Scotland College of Agriculture and the Aberdeen and North of Scotland College of Agriculture were both established in the early 20th century. These three colleges were merged into a single institution, the Scottish Agricultural College, in 1990. South Lanarkshire College
South Lanarkshire College is a further education institution in South Lanarkshire, Scotland. Its campus is located in East Kilbride, with new buildings completed in 2008 at a site between the town centre and the Kelvin industrial area. The college was founded in 1948 as a building school in Cambuslang and had several sites for its various departments over its history, including at Blantyre, Motherwell, Hamilton and Wishaw. Its last site in Cambuslang was at the former Gateside School which dated from the 1880s, but was demolished soon after the college relocated entirely to East Kilbride. North East Scotland College (abbreviated as NESCol) was formed on 1 November 2013 from the merger of Aberdeen College and Banff & Buchan College. The regional college serves an extensive geographical area with its main centres in Aberdeen and Fraserburgh. The main NESCol campus – Aberdeen City Campus, is based at the Gallowgate in Aberdeen. Glasgow Kelvin College is a further education college in Glasgow, Scotland, which was formed 1 November 2013 from the merger of John Wheatley College, Stow College and North Glasgow College. The college is named after the scientist Lord Kelvin as a statement of its intent to promote engineering and scientific education programmes.
