Northern District, Plovdiv
Northern district ( bg, Район Северен) is a district of Plovdiv, southern Bulgaria. It is often referred by the citizens as ''Karshiaka'' meaning "the other bank" in Turkish language, Turkish. It has 53,870 inhabitants. The district is located on the northern bank of the Maritsa river. Structure The district includes the neighbourhoods of ''Jurii Gagarin'', ''Filipovo'', ''Zaharna Fabrikia'', and ''Gaganitsa''. The 8,000-seat stadium of FC Maritsa Plovdiv is located in the western part of the district. The transport infrastructure includes Filipovo railway station and bus station "Sever" (meaning north in Bulgarian). The Plovdiv International Fair is situated in the eastern parts of the district. There are three large hotels: Novotel Plovdiv, Maritsa Hotel and Sankt Peterburg Hotel (which is currently the tallest building in Plovdiv). Rayon Sever
Rayon is a semi-synthetic fiber, made from natural sources of regenerated cellulose fiber, cellulose, such as wood and related agricultural products. It has the same molecular structure as cellulose. It is also called viscose. Many types and grades of viscose fibers and films exist. Some imitate the feel and texture of natural fibers such as silk, wool, cotton, and linen. The types that resemble silk are often called Art silk, artificial silk. The fibre is used to make textiles for clothing and other purposes. Rayon production involves solubilizing cellulose to allow turning the fibers into required form. Three common ways to solubilize are the Cuprammonium rayon, cuprammonium process, not in use today, using ammoniacal solutions of copper salts; the viscose process, the most common today, using alkali and Carbon_disulfide, carbon sulfide; and the Lyocell process, using amine oxide. Plovdiv International Fair
International Fair Plovdiv ( bg, Международен панаир Пловдив), held in Plovdiv, is Bulgaria's largest and oldest international trade fair. It was established in August 1892 as an industrial and agricultural show, and attracts more than 600,000 visitors from many countries. During its first year, the Plovdiv Fair had an exhibition area of 90,000 m², participants from 24 countries and 162,000 visitors during its two and a half months. A National Industrial Exhibition was organized in 1933 that had 424 exhibitors and 120,000 visitors, being the first sample fair in Plovdiv. A second followed in 1934, when the Plovdiv Fair was proclaimed permanent and the only in Bulgaria on 16 May. Plovdiv University
Plovdiv ( bg, Пловдив, ), is the second-largest city in Bulgaria, standing on the banks of the Maritsa river in the historical region of Thrace. Maritsa ( bg, Марица) is a Bulgarian association football club based in Plovdiv, that plays in the Second League, the second level of Bulgarian football league system. It was established in 1921, after the merger of the teams Vampir and Trite Konski Sili. The club plays its home games at Maritsa Stadium, located in the city's northern district.
