Sydney Trains A & B Sets
The Sydney Trains A & B sets, also referred to as the Waratah trains, are classes of double-decker electric multiple units (EMU) that currently operate on the Sydney Trains network. Based on the earlier Sydney Trains M set, M sets, the Waratahs were manufactured by a joint consortium between CRRC and Downer Rail, with initial construction taking place overseas in Changchun before final assembly at Downer Rail's Cardiff Locomotive Workshops. The sets were named after the Waratah flower, which is the state's floral emblem. The initial order for 78 A sets was the largest rolling stock order in Australia's history. These 624 A set carriages make up around half of the Sydney Trains fleet and replaced two-thirds of the 498 Sydney Trains S set, S set carriages. Sydney Metro Northwest
Sydney Metro North West was a rapid transit project that constructed the first section of the Metro Northwest and Bankstown Line through the north-western suburbs of Sydney, New South Wales, Australia. The project included the conversion of the existing Epping to Chatswood rail link to metro standards and connects the suburbs of Rouse Hill and Chatswood via Castle Hill and Epping. The project was managed by Transport for NSW. The line is part of the Sydney Metro system. The completed Metro North West line opened on 26 May 2019, and was later extended to Sydenham via the CBD, which opened on 19 August 2024. North Sydney Railway Station
North Sydney railway station is a suburban railway station located on the North Shore line, serving the North Shore suburb of North Sydney. It is served by Sydney Trains' T1 North Shore Line and T9 Northern Line services. Wollstonecraft railway station is a suburban railway station located on the North Shore line, serving the North Sydney Council suburb of Wollstonecraft. Chatswood railway station is a rapid transit and suburban railway station located in the City of Willoughby suburb of Chatswood. It is served by Sydney Trains services; the T1 North Shore & Western Line and the T9 Northern Line, and Sydney Metro North West & Bankstown Line services. History Chatswood station opened on 1 January 1890 when the North Shore line opened from Hornsby to St Leonards. An island platform was built on 23 May 1900 and a third dock platform brought into use on 12 July 1919.
