The Northeast Conference (NEC) Men's Basketball Defensive Player of the Year is an award given to the basketball player in the Northeast Conference voted as the best defensive player. The award was first given after the 1999–2000 season. Northeast Conference
The Northeast Conference (NEC) is a collegiate athletic conference whose schools are members of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Teams in the NEC compete in Division I for all sports; football competes in the Division I Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). Participating schools are located principally in the Northeastern United States, from which the conference derives its name. History The conference was named the ECAC Metro Conference when it was established in 1981. Josh Nebo
Joshua Okechukwu Nebo (born July 17, 1997) is an American-born naturalized Slovenian professional basketball player for Olimpia Milano of the Italian Lega basket serie A and the EuroLeague. He played college basketball for the Saint Francis Red Flash and the Texas A&M Aggies. In 2020-21 he led the Israel Basketball Premier League in rebounds per game. Early life Nebo was born in Houston and later lived in Katy, Texas, and grew up skateboarding and playing defensive end in football. He first began playing basketball in middle school. Nebo attended Cypress Lakes High School, where he was frequently overshadowed by teammate De'Aaron Fox. As a senior, Nebo helped lead Cypress Lakes to the Class 6A state quarterfinals in 2015. Stonehill Skyhawks Men's Basketball
The Stonehill Skyhawks men's basketball team, known previously as the Stonehill Chieftains, represents Stonehill College in Easton, Massachusetts, United States. The Skyhawks currently compete in the Division I Northeast Conference as of July 1, 2022. Due to the NCAA's policy on reclassifying programs, the Skyhawks will not be eligible to compete in the NCAA tournament or the NIT until the 2026–27 season. LIU Sharks Men's Basketball
The LIU Sharks men's basketball team represents Long Island University in NCAA Division I basketball competition. They play their home games at their Brooklyn Campus in the Steinberg Wellness Center and Barclays Center, formerly known as the Wellness, Recreation & Athletics Center, and are members of the Northeast Conference. The Le Moyne Dolphins men's basketball program is the men's college basketball team of Le Moyne College. Jordan Minor (born March 11, 2000) is an American basketball player for the Long Island Nets of the NBA G League. He played college basketball for the Merrimack Warriors and the Virginia Cavaliers. Juvaris K. Hayes (born February 8, 1998) is an American basketball coach for the Merrimack Warriors and former player. He played college basketball for Merrimack and professionally in Europe. The Robert Morris Colonials men's basketball team is the basketball team that represents Robert Morris University in Moon Township, Pennsylvania, United States.
